Except Kadri's underlying stats are through the roof. His usage was just awful. - Feeling Glucky?
Use corsi , p/60 etc if you've never played the game of hockey at serious levels and want to compensate for it and seem smart. Not saying that statement applies to you in particular, but it's so brutal when these underlying stats come out yet somehow NHL coach after NHL coach seem to miss the point. Wow who knew hockeybuzz posters were smarter than NHL coaches. |

Problem is, if a guy plays sheltered minutes and puts up points, it doesn't mean that giving him more (unsheltered) minutes will increase his production. - Pecafan Fan
so you mean tyler johnson ISN"T better than Stamkos? |

The point is on THE LEAFS he's easily the #1 centre. It's not like it's easy to get quality centres in the NHL. - RogerRoeper
yeah I thought that was obvious

Who will the options be?
Bozak if not traded, Holland or Kadri
We tried the 5 year Bozak experiment .. results suck
Kadri is a better option than Holland - senstroll
no my point is anyone can be #1 centre. but none are real #1 centres on a long term good team. #2 centres on a good team, MAYBE #3 centres on a cup contending team.
Any of the above are decent players; i wouldn't miss any of them though. |

Yeah he was great. Will really miss him. - iTOLDu
Good PP guy IMO.
I could care less if he's back..I'm sure he'll get more money somewhere else.
Probably make the playoffs too...good for him. |

but according to some on here who love nerdy stats, kadri is 'responsible'.
IMO he's like zoolander, he can't turn left (when left leads back into your own end) - clark_griswold
LMAO...
Cause, he looked the best when everyone else gave up is not exactly the best endorsement for a player |

we are not talking about a rookie thats been heavily sheltered..Kadri wasnt sheltered
the QoC thing has been kinda killed off..over the season player end up playing against everyone and the differences are small

This is true, but of his 39 points, 31 were even strength, because he barely got power play time... And having better linemates could help overcome the the increase in QoC. |

Stick around so JFJ and The President can show up to convince you how signing Babcock is a bad thing. |

For the record: I was talking in general. Not specifically about Kadri.
I do like Kadri and think the Leafs should hold on to him. |

Funny how the Ducks instantly improved without Carlyle, eh?
Almost as if his style of play doesn't work...
And taking another objectively awful coach in Horachek doesn't help prove the point. |

Everyone knows that if you get the puck on his stick, he can do some beautiful stuff here and there. If he can round out his 2-way game, he'll be a really good player, because the offensive stuff comes naturally. |

Not every NHL coach makes 100% smart decisions.. I think we can say that
unless you have agreed with all the coaching moves the leafs made, I dont see your point.
and not every NHL coach pays attention to stats... they might help some coaches

He had 180 mins of PP time. that's not nothing. more than the midget line of johnson, palat, kucherov..more than guys like TJ oshie for starters.
he played the point on the PP too. so there's that....
