the QoC thing has been kinda killed off..over the season player end up playing against everyone and the differences are small - senstroll
Doesn't own the puck still use QoC and QoT to adjust the stats? |

The Leafs lost a third as well, those two first rounders have to be home runs. - LeafMan
Sometime over the next 3 years. Could be in 2017, or next year, where we have 10 picks |

Use corsi , p/60 etc if you've never played the game of hockey at serious levels and want to compensate for it and seem smart. Not saying that statement applies to you in particular, but it's so brutal when these underlying stats come out yet somehow NHL coach after NHL coach seem to miss the point. Wow who knew hockeybuzz posters were smarter than NHL coaches. - clark_griswold
Yup, it's only nerds who have never been REALLY involved with the game who use that crap...

"I've seen so many analytics presentations it's not even funny," Babcock said. "Some of them have been very impressive and some of them I wasn't as impressed with, but I love the information. I absolutely love the information. We're in the information business, so how do you get it? And then you have to use your expertise to sort it out." |

Who coached the Ducks when they won the Cup? - PatC80
The guy with Pronger, Neidermayer, Giguere, Getzlaf, and Perry on his team.
With Beauchemin as a 2nd pairing dman.
Oh and let's not forget Teemu Selanne, Andy MacDonald, Chris Kunitz, and possibly one of the best shut down lines since the lockout. |

Everyone knows that if you get the puck on his stick, he can do some beautiful stuff here and there. If he can round out his 2-way game, he'll be a really good player, because the offensive stuff comes naturally. - TheMussel
And he's improved in that area, so no reason to think he can't/won't continue to. |

wow....it's wierd how so many good teams over the years haven't won..but the ducks in 07 don't count; maybe they were too good?
RC won a cup. the leafs have been garbage before and after. All the would have/could haves don't matter until it's proven he's bad and they were good. |

wishlist:
1. Assistant Coach: Guy Boucher
2. GM: David Poile
3. Trade Dion (absolute priority!) (Couturier??)
4. Trade Lupul (2nd round pick?)
5. Keep Bozak (#2C) , Kessel, JVR, Gardiner.
6. Trade for John Gibson (Reimer ++).
6. Draft Marner @4, or Hanifin if he's not there anymore
7. Draft Sprong or Meloche @24.
8. Get a 2nd round pick to draft Matej Tomek.

Did Babcock mold Datsyuk and Zetterberg into 200ft forwards or did they bring those attributes from their junior careers? |

The same coaches have all agreed that Bozak was a #1 Center and should always play with Phil
Clearly none of us know what we are talking about |

2 years ago Kadri was dynamite on the pp. last year he played 2nd rate pp mins, barely even got a sniff early on. Hardly ever on with Kassel and jvr.
If you don't think he should be getting more pp, and more time with better player give you head a shake. |

never say never but very doubtful when you look around the league at the variations on the PP of teams |

Oh ok, so because the Leafs didn't have those players, he is a bad coach and didn't deserve his Stanley Cup win? |

watch the games nerd - clark_griswold
Watching games confirm that a bad possession team doesn't work... And that benching a guy like Kadri in favour of Bozak is one of the big reasons it doesn't work. And that maybe- just maybe- running with just one line might lead to a collapse over time.

You got it. - walshyleafsfan
What Oilers fan thinks the team is otherworldly? Most intelligent Oil fans I know think we a missing 2 top D men and a goalie, plus a little jam up front. We finished 28th...that's a (frank) of a long ways away from otherworldly. |

Hopefully..
I just get the feeling that Babcock will use the phrase "2 way game" and Kadri would just look at him all confused like and say, "coach, I go one way, I don't swing that way but thanks for the offer" - PatC80

like i said he got 180 mins on the PP. more than alot of very good NHL players. he was 8th on the team. that's not insignificant PP time.
would he be better than bozak? probably. do both players suck currently? yes. |
