Some optimism is fine. What I'm seeing on here is just plain old lunacy.

Recent state of affairs showed that multiple coaches could not get this group of players to perform. I don't think babcock has some magic spell to fix this mess. Going to take time and a whole lot of work to make this better. No one person has that great of an effect. It's up to the whole management team to step up.

I think it's possible a culture shift could see them competitive on a game by game basis within 2 years, which might mean a quicker rebuild than say, 5 years, but to do the Calgary model you need a lot more talent than the Leafs have right now...
