Washington has 19 million in space, more once the cap goes up and 4.5 more if they dump Laich.
- JohnFergusonJr

and a big chuck of that is going to Mike Green and others. San Jose has most of their roster filled minus 5 and 6 dmen

This.

I really don't understand the comparison between the two.... aside that they're both talented.... I guess?

- Scabeh

And American?

Kessel drew the Crosby comparison playing in he US national development program. Once he got to the NCAA his stock dropped... Which is why he went 5th, not 1st overall.

Eichel's stock hasn't dropped.

Apparently some people have problems evaluating young players and their potential.

To make it easy for those guys, i'll just give you the comparison:

Eichel = Mats Sundin

I don't know what Eichel has done to make him thus can't miss franchise player, I think he will be the fourth or fifth best forward out of the draft. I don't see this superstar player some think he will be.
- LeafMan

Lots of end to end individualistic plays with really quick feet and shot and no defensive game. Sound familiar?

I agree, I'd take McDavid, Strome and Marner ahead of him.

Mike Green isn't going back unless he takes a reduced role and pay which the Washington GM already said in public.

21-22 year old pylons who will be lucky to see pro hockey much less the NHL not like all the NHL drafted players that all the OHL boys have to play against 80-100 times a year.

Crouse is a physical beast. Richie is a physical beast. Eichel is a good size but is not a physical beast, not in his size or the way he plays either.

As opposed to Strome and Marner doing it against other 17,18 year olds?

Who are NHL drafted prospects, play twice as many games and in general a way stronger, way better development league. Not to mention the CHL playoffs.

I loved his game after seeing a few BU games. But at the worlds he was very good. Went head to head with Malkin and didnt miss a beat.

No one knows for sure, but im very impressed with Eich. Hes a hybrid of Getzlaf and spezza to me.

I still think he is over hyped, I could be wrong but I will say he won't be a franchise player, nope.

How can you compare Eichel, who actually has speed and quickness, to Getzlaf and Spezza, two of the slowest giant centers out there.

In the mold of Mike Modano..
Would you consider Modano a franchise player?
