Ya sorry. Hes much more like kessel. What was i thinking.
- clark_griswold

He really is. If he was a more dedicated, more physically fit version of Kessel, he could be a better version of Kessel but that's what I see from him.

he wasn't even good in russia. i wish him luck.
- daeth

He's 23, very talented, worth a shot. If they picked up Panik off waivers, why not give a guy with twice as much natural skill a chance for 1 year?

Yes I know. I was just reiterating my stance about how important it is to get that centre, it is imperative with this high pick.
- LeafMan

Also agreed. I'd draft nothing but centers for the next five years. The best ones stay at center, the others become wingers who can play center in a pinch.

It's all opinion, I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying I don't see a franchise player in him. I could be wrong but again, I don't see it.

Yeah, the comparisons between Kessel and Eichel are endless;

They're both American, both men and....ummm....they are good skaters?

Opinion is one thing, everyone's entitled to their own. but saying Eichel is similar to Kessel is like saying Toews is similar to Lupul.. Both are NHL hockey players and both Canadian..

I'm not going to change my stance about the Leafs needing a centre more than anything else, I've said it for four years now, this is their chance.

Are you (frank)ing kidding me? If you can/do build a team around him, he's a Franchise player.

If he's a free agent there's no harm in trying but I don't expect him to be an NHL regular at this point.

Take talent where you can find it.

Don't we need to trade for him though?

Yup. Trade something of relatively little consequence (ideally a contract) and then get him on the Marlies for a year or two

Thommie Bergman for me was the main one to keep. He's been turning 5th, 6th and 7th round picks into NHLers for a while (though we need to keep more of them and develop them better!)... I'm very happy that he's still there.
