Babcock is probably the best coach in the NHL. Intentionally tanking is PATHETIC and only PATHETIC LOSERS would want to tank. If you have a chance to have the best coach you (frank)ing try your best to get them & if you don't, too bad. At least you tried to put a winning product on the ice.

For those of you that are SCARED of losing all the time, maybe sports is not for you. If you say you don't want your team to be good because you are scared of the disappointment that comes when they arent - sports ISN'T for you. Go play MAGIC THE GATHERING.

I can't see why he would leave Detroit.

To be honest, I'd trade our prospect pool for Buffalo's straight up in a heartbeat
- TheThrill

Other than Sam Reinhart, which prospects of BUff would you trade for William Nylander, Connor Brown, Stuart Percy, Frederik Gauthier, Matt Finn, Viktor Loov, Tom Nilsson, etc?

only reason toronto isnt out of the picture, is because when you zoom out on google maps to see both Detroit and Buffalo, you can see toronto

Hammond resigns...

hope Ottawa doesn't make the same mistake twice, and trades Lehner for a scrub, only to watch him be a great goalie somewhere else.

They need to trade Anderson.

When/if O'Connor is ready for the big jump in a few years, they'll have the same problem they do now, and that isn't a bad thing.

Wish the Leafs have this kind of problem..

If you want the Leafs to be winners then you have to try to be the best in EVERY aspect. Coaches, scouts, etc.

That's why they cleaned house. The rampant nepotism that used to occur in the franchise has come to an end. Be proud.

At first, I thought I saw Frederik Gauthier in there.

Then I looked again, and saw that Frederik Gauthier really is there.

Just me probably, I would have taken Bennett over Reinhart.
- LeafMan

Bennett could be the best forward of that draft for sure.
Kind of like the Marner Strome argument. Marner may be better but Strome I think will go before him because of his size and style

For the record, I agree with you and want the Leafs to embrace a winning culture as well.

But I'm also a fighting nerd jock who plays bass in a metal band. So have fun labelling me

I just needed an example. I'm a nerd. I play lots of video games. LOTS. I could have said go play WoW which is something I used to do just last year. But for real, this is professional, competitive sports. You gotta want to be the best in every aspect to cut it.

This is just not hindsight, I said it at the draft. Bennett always makes things happen, Reinhart is better defensively but I agree, Bennett may be the best forward out of that draft.

LOL true speak. I did post another comment referencing the band. but boobs too, as evidenced by my 1 year old son (in a week)

Labels, cliques, social stereotyping, etc has always struck a nerve with me. it's pretty much the dumbest thing that exists

Agreed, and it would be nice to not only be developing a prospect pool at every level, but also a winning culture at every level.

Realistically, how far off are we from being able to potentially pull a Calgary? I don't think more than a year or two.
