For the record, I agree with you and want the Leafs to embrace a winning culture as well.
But I'm also a fighting nerd jock who plays bass in a metal band. So have fun labelling me - TheThrill

He was my favorite forward in that draft as well. He's going to be a stud - Nucker101
I think he will be the best offensive forward out of that draft. whereas Reinhart and Draisaitl will be more of the two way type centres.
Bennett is more dynamic then those two, imo. |

Other than Sam Reinhart, which prospects of BUff would you trade for William Nylander, Connor Brown, Stuart Percy, Frederik Gauthier, Matt Finn, Viktor Loov, Tom Nilsson, etc? - 13LEAFS01

This is just not hindsight, I said it at the draft. Bennett always makes things happen, Reinhart is better defensively but I agree, Bennett may be the best forward out of that draft. - LeafMan
I was and still am torn between him and Draisaitl. Both very different styles but both something needed. |

I'd rather pass on Babcock and let the rebuild happen but if anybody really wanted Babcock, toss him 7 million a year. |

I'm no scout but I liked Bennett at that number two spot. But those were three pretty good centers in a row taken. |

Oilers were idiots to pass on Bennett. He's exactly the type of competitor the Oilers need. |

I understand why they went Draisaitl, they needed that big centre in the west. If Bennett was taken second, I wonder if they would have went Reinhart? |

I think the big German was their guy all along. No way they planned that McDavid would fall into their lap, they probably figured RNH was their number one for the future. |

Draisaitl isn't even bigger than Bennett, he's just heavier which can change considering they're just 18. Bennett has Toews written all over him. |

Yeah, I think he was their target, he was what they needed, size down the middle.
Funny, they were all different type centres, this year draft, they are all offensive centres, lol. |
