So 29 other teams have a 20 year old who led the AHL in rookie scoring? 29 other teams have a 19 year old who was top 5 in SEL goal scoring? I think you've been beaten down by too many great leaf prospect hopes that you can't even recognize when a prospect actually has a greater than usual shot of making it as a solid contributing player at the NHL level. Can't say I blame you. - mykokes
Nothing to do with that. I have faith in my player analysis, as should u. Its all opinion. I just dont rely solely on stats. Not saying u do either. I wish i had your optimism, i just take the emotions out of my analysis of the leafs. I try to look at them like any other team and not my favorite. |

Red Wings wouldn't give Babcock more than five year extension. |

At 8 years, I don't think Babcock will stand in the way of trading away guys who won't fit with his team, even Phil and the gang. - mykokes
With an out clause after year five. I don't see Babcock being happy with a roster void of talent and sitting in last place. I think he believes in his coaching abilities enough to try and change the rotten core than he is willing to sit in last place for three more years. |

Having said that, 15 million invested in Richardey is a massive problem. Reyes is loops, there are other big issues... - aminnes

In the finals. Horton was a presence the 3 previous rounds, IMO.
But no problem. I understand you don't like JVR, that's fair. - TheThrill

You confuse me, because earlier you said he is capable of turning JVR into 40 and Phil into 50. If he's that good they don't need to trade them anyway... |

Horton was a beast getting them to that point. He had a bunch of GWG and OTGWG too. Even that injury rallied the team because he was so important to them during that run. Just sayin' - JohnFergusonJr
Fernando Pisani had so many GWG's. Still didn't get to raise the Cup while on the ice. |

JFJ / UG is like a addicted gambler when it comes to the leafs.
Gambles so he can have the feeling of losing it all. More of a rush than winning. |

This is why the recent talk of trading for Cueto or Hammels is scaring me. It'll take one or more of the young arms to get an expensive aging star like that. I can't remember another time when they had so many great pitching prospects on the verge of being established major leaguers. They need to keep Sanchez/Norris/Osuna/Hoffman/Stroman/Hutchison at all costs, because that could be a dominant homegrown cheap and controllable rotation in 2-3 years from now, the likes of we've never seen before. |

You're right, there are plenty of guys who have one good playoff run and then they get overrated and overpaid, like Bickell, but Horton was a solid powerforward for many years. Like, a real powerforward, not a big guy who refuses to hit and scores tap-ins type of powerforward. |
