Buddy of mine used to come up to my cottage to bang this cougar nearby.

She would dress up for him and make him whatever meal he wanted.

Looked pretty fit for her age too. Worth the 2 hour drive.

Good point..

I'd rather see some young but established players come back instead of picks.

If Babcock lures any wings I hope it's Kronwall or Tatar.. But I doubt it..

(frank) that. Take picks. Hell you can get both with all that.

good thing you're not GM.

people don't realise that the 3% chance of winning the SC is not that much increased by a full tank for 3+ years. even with various consecutive top3 picks the chances to actually win a cup don't increase that much.

it's a 30 team league with a lot of great teams, and the difference in level between teams is very small.

penguins with best player and another top5 center is not doing anything last couple of years. edmonton will not be a 'fix' for various consecutive SC finals in 5-10y from now.
SC winners don't make playoffs next season..

this is a very close league, and there is no 'guaranteed formula' to win. drafting, UFA signings, trades are all equally important.

tanking is for losers.
I've said various times that the Maple Leafs cannot afford to have a loser mentality for 3-5 years, it just does not go with the franchise (and fans, media etc.).

getting Babcock is GREAT because he is perceived by most people around league as the best coach there is. no player wants to come to a losing organization, but players want to play for a winning coach who is 'the best'. ask NHL players in NHL who would be top3 coaches they would like to play for, and 95% would put Babcock on that list.

But you said you'd want Datsyuk for 1 year, even if it meant no cup for 10 years.

That takes that 3% chance and makes it a 0

For one year of watching a guy play for your team.

Whats the point of good players if they;re not getting you the cup?

It wouldn't have, that was the point of making the trade when they were actually a good team earlier in the season.

Picks are good..

But I'm impatient. And I'm sick of watching picks turn into busts.

agreed, there are a lot of teams that have some good young players but would benefit more by adding any of those players.

the islanders interest me the most. so much young talent that we could try and pry out of them. if it is sending them kessel or jvr, if we can get one of reinhart, dal colle, strome, or pulock, i would be very happy. obviously it would be a bigger deal, just naming some of the talent they have.

Between Hunter and Babcock, this may change.

London and Detroit both have a great history of developing talent.

London is probably the biggest OHL market so they have some good players passing thru.. And Detroit had some incredible scouts and drafted really well.. But yeah, hopefully they learn how to (frank)ing draft.. Although I'm satisfied with Rielly and Naz..
