Babcock is a great coach...it's your roster that is a chodasweat chocolate bar...still outside of TO nobody cares...at all.
- jazzca1974

They care so little that they post in the thread dedicated to the team nobody cares outside of Toronto cares about regarding the topic nobody outside of Toronto cares about.

The Tampa Bay line grew up through the AHL together, didn't they? You can't just replicate that on a whim.

Something Mike knew when he signed on for 8 years.

Well in all seriousness, Brown and Nylander have found great chemistry in the AHL. I am on the fence about abandoning the rebuild. With proper management and some luck we could turn it around sooner than later. Especially if we turned Kessel into young NHL talent instead of draft picks!

Let me sum it up for you:

Leafs fans: "This is awesome!"
The President: "Why didn't we hire Hitchcock???"
JFJ: "Losing is better than winning!"
Neutrals: "I don't like it but congrats I guess..."
Most Buffalo fans: "FEQJGVREVJFM WKIW!!@EH@E!@~"

I hope everyone remembers way back when the Leafs extended Carlyle there were fans saying Shanahan wanted to see if he had a shot at hiring Babcock, and figured that was the easiest way.

Looks to me like they actually have a long term plan for once. Whether it's successful or burns in a fiery 18 wheeler crash is what we get to witness.

Shanahan is inexperienced and doesn't know what he's doing.... Or something along those lines.

I'm not. If they make some noise on true merit like the flames did this season I will applaud them, but I believe they need to expel the old guard (players, there's no one left in management haha), toil, and stock the shelves.

Leafs still paying Nonussed

- Landsbergfan

when will the other teams in the league realize - that the Leafs paying non-players, such as ex-coaches etc money for contracts they are no longer working against... simply means less money for other blood-sucking teams in the league.

I was thrilled to hear that Buttman doesn't want coaches paid much... and the Leafs happily went about getting Babcock - clearly sending a message.

i think our prospect pool in underrated. Defence especially. We have one of the best D prospect pools in the league. Finn Percy, Loov, Valiev, Nilsson, Granberg and Everson all have legitimate shots at being serviceable NHLers. Finn and Percy could be 3/4's

So we have here a Flyers fan talking about paying people not to contribute... Really?

Good for you, that takes some serious balls... Or maddening stupidity. Let's flip a coin

I just don't want to end up like Columbus, into a perpetual mediocre state. We need high draft picks (top 5) for at least the next two years in order to properly do this rebuild, I think Babcock hinders that.

They were the only Canadian team that had nothing to be happy about this year... Till now!

Everyone wins!
