The whole Babapalooza tour never made sense if he really thought he was going back to the Wings. After that, it came down to crummy teams that fired coaches, then it came down to crummy teams with money and then it came down to crummy teams with money not located in Buffalo.

Like with the state of this team, we just need good players at every position.

I do think we are weaker in terms of prospect pool at defense than we are up front, but frankly, they still need everything

The story this morning is more likely. The Leafs were never really out of it, just quiet about it.

They waited to see what other teams would offer before making their own serious offer... once they knew what they were up against.

It is not tough to imagine Shanahan sitting back knowing that he had the green light to beat or match whatever was out there and telling Babcock to give him a final call before signing anything.

Percisely. And that is the point. Obviously the leafs had been there all along, no? They flew to Detroit the second he was elimated, they spoke to him at the worlds. Only butthut whiners saying they swooped in last minute.

I don't know exactly what happened to Oliver Kylington to make him drop so far, but I think he could be a pretty damn good player too, and could be around at 25.

Dozz hates the OHL... they produce little Kleenex boner stocks or some crap like that.

For sure, I think it's naïve to think they haven't spoken about this before. I'm sure management, scouts, players, everyone involved in the industry talk all the time. poop like this doesn't just happen in 3 or 4 days.
