Yah, thats what I said. Scouting staff.
Look where all those guys were drafted. This teams office made Babcock look really good. Is he a good coach, I do believe so. Is he as much of a god as many are making him out to be? I dont think so AT ALL. - vancity787

He's much smarter than Marty. He should easily exceed what MSL has accomplished. |

I thought he did a pretty damn good job in Anaheim.
Vantel is right though-- It's going to take a at least a couple seasons to return to anything remotely respectable.
McLellan will have a better record for sure. |

They won the lotto - VANTEL
I wouldn't call it that... It's like paying 55 million in 6/49 tickets for the 50 million dollar draw and when you land it...claiming that you won the lotto. |

I don't get it. Wait, what are we talking teams who's won the Cup in the last 48 years?
Toronto hasn't.
You guy's must've?
Anyways, not surprising Mike went to Toronto, it was pretty much set in stone when the Laffs fired Randy and didn't hire a coach. Still won't change anything. They'll always be the laughing stock of the league. |

The Stanley Cup is the most overrated trophy in sports.
Winning the presidents Trophy is where it is at. |

Only when Babcock gets fired in 3 years, in all honesty the leafs situation quit being funny to me 2-3 seasons ago. - I-own_da-Northwest
Yeah, but's its only money, they seem to have quite a bit of it. I think they're paying about 20 staff to not work for them.
It's been rumoured Mike has complete control over the city of Toronto (don't know where people are getting that from), and if true, I don't think anyone can fire him. He's untouchable apparently. |

Carlyle won the Cup that Babcock couldn't...
Or the glass half full would be Carlyle won the cup on the back of the team that Babcock built (coached). |
