I am surprised no one mentioned that on Twitter last night on the Utica account they said they expect McCann to play this upcoming series.
Yes trade Vrbata. If you bring in Ward the you are giving up on Kassian and Grenier. It is time to reward youth.
Next years 4 th line JV Cassels Dorsett |

Stalock says otherwise, Neimi will likely move on but my guess is they go with Stalock and a vet opposed to a guy like Lack and Stalock. - belcherbd
I know its cliché but Stalock is to short. I just don't see him as a constant starter in this league. He is a reliable backup but I have seen him get exposed after too much time in net. |

Bloatedmosquito,
Signing Ward short term isn't as much of a worry as Matthias, Richardson, Higgins, Burrows, Bieksa all being in Canucks Blue next year.
If those five are all still here then I would start worrying about the 'plan'.
- LordHumungous
Ward has some grit so I don't care one way or the other. Trade Vrbata |

He's 34. I thought we were all leaning to younger players. I'm with you on this on start rewarding the younger players. It would be a waste of money. Bloated was right if they sign him they don't have a plan. |

They have a plan, and its not like its a secret. They want to make the playoffs every year and that means investing in older players. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they go after Ward. |

I agree. If they sign him I won't be pissed but would much rather try Grenier as 2 RW |

(frank) Ward.
I would rather see Baertschi-like trades/signings. Youth with potential. Let your development system work out the kinks. |

I wouldn't be surprised either but it would suggest to me that the owner is once again pulling the strings to keep the gravy train rolling. No way this team competes for a cup without a young star or two to build around. |

Trade Vrbata for first rounder to Mtl - VANTEL
If they can get a first, I don't care where he goes.
JB needs to make sure there are open slots for some of the youngsters. These guys in Utica have to be making an impression. Need the guys that aren't waiver exempt, in the lineup if they deserve to be. |

Yes - VANTEL
Then go for it. No point in losing players with nothing to show for it. Would his trade value go up at the TDL? Perfect player for a contending team.
Then again, if canucks are close to a playoff spot next season then he will stay and he'll probably walk at the end of his contract.
To be honest, I would rather see Miller moved first. No point having him on the roster. |

I would like to see the forward group like this next year and I don't care if we come in last.

Sven Bo Hansen
Kenins Bonino Grenier

His trade value might be highest at draft |

This is oileresk lineup with the number of rookies in this lineup. But Benning did say next year draft is deeper then this year so I your lineup. |

Lack maybe, Markstrom likely is worth like a 3rd. |

Is any different than our second for Baertschi ? He is closer to ready than selecting a goalie at that spot |

Scorers always have more values than goalies though. |

He is one of the best AHL goalies and the kid Is huge. He is worth a second for a team that is desperate for goaltending. I would package him with Highins
Boston may want him also. They need a back up and Subban is a bigger risk |

Sabres pick is essentially a 1st, so I think that makes a big difference. You also would have to agree that a 2nd round pick is worth an older prospect.
Benning has been willing to pay that for Vey and Baertschi as did Chia in Boston paying 2 2nd for Connolly.
Usually 2nds are spent on useful but not spectacular NHLers.
Petry, Stewart, Timmonen, Gorges, Stewart all went for 2nd round picks more or less this year. |
