I have to throw this out there to all the Buffalo fans, and those who are saying that Babcock played them.

From all indications, the Buffalo Sabres and the Toronto Maple Leafs offered Babcock the same money. Babcock chose Toronto over Buffalo even though Toronto is probably in a much worse situation right now in terms of a rebuild. I think Rantanen is the third best player in the draft and he perhaps plays 100 feet better then anyone in the draft

That said I'm not angry with what happened. Good luck to Toronto as the rivalry needs to be renewed. I do take both Babcock and Murray at what they said as fact. You can usually tell when someone is lying and they both sounded genuine about the whole situation.

Also- (and this is in no way a plug for Burmistrov)- isnt it widely accepted that scoring in the KHL is tough to come by. Lots of bogged down hockey is my understanding. Dont recall anyone with eye popping stats off the top of my head

The probability of the 3rd rounder panning out isn't in our favor either, so really it's not like it would be a huge loss if he didn't end up working out. It's low risk, but could be high reward.
