This guy Taj on Twitter on Nicklas Jensen "His agent should demand a trade" - VanHockeyGuy
This will go down as one of the great mysteries in my life, why is this Taj guy so famous? Does he blog about the Canucks or something? If he's just a fan, I don't get it.
And lol at that idiotic comment, Jensen has minimal trade value and it's not the Canucks fault that he's sucking in the AHL. |

You remind me of a young Nucker before I slowly died inside with each conversation about how the Sedins are still stars, guys like Sestito/Sbisa suck, drafting players who aren't producing in lower levels of hockey are basically wasted picks etc. - Nucker101

Well you could say the Sbisa signing was the final dagger in the heart. Before that I was already on my death bed after seeing people freak out about Tanev potentially getting"overpaid", then some of those same people defended the Sbisa deal or said it's not so bad |

I think their is still hope for him. Maybe not as a top sixer but if he can use his wheels and alter his game into a grinder type player I think he could be quite useful. And he still has a nice shot. Wouldnt hurt having that in the bottom six. |

Except he was projected to go right around the range and the entire fanbase didn't collectively say "WTF!" when he was selected. Hell, his NHL projection was a poor man's 2nd line version of Rick Nash. |

At least Nonis made up for it in TO with the Gauthier pick. |

So maybe it's a mindset thing...some players just can't accept that their projection was wrong and work hard to mould their game, would rather be a star in the French league or something than pick up a better all-around game.
Feels like we've had this discussion about him already though |

I think people forget that he was a 29th overall. People tend to blow their load on here about Rickard Rakell (30th that year) but he hasn't exactly lit it up either in the close to 100 games he has played in the NHL. The players directly before Jensen haven't been that much better either.

I think Jensen had/has more potential than most of the guys selected around him, but his stock fell due to an inconsistent effort. That is clearly on display. |

Agreed. A guy like Rakell has a way more consistent work ethic and stronger determination in all 3 zones on the ice, and probably better hockey sense as well so he made it despite probably not being as offensively talented as Jensen. |

Does Vancouver even Qualify an Offer for Jensen
That statement by Gillis pretty clear cut. The guy has no idea what style of game he wants to play.
Thats what I noticed as well when he was called up.
He's gone hopefully. |

He's worth qualifying and signing to a one year deal to give him one last chance. |

He's 21 ? Maybe as he matures he'll bring a better approach. I would keep him as you never know what kind of player he'll be by the age of 25. |

Yup and he may or may not make it, but I still like the pick, he had/has great physical tools and an elite shot.
From the games that I watched of him earlier in the AHL, I thought he was consistently the best Canucks prospect at both ends of the ice. He was the best prospect at camp the last 2 years and looked okay at times last year in the NHL.
I think the Utica roster this year has a mucker mentality and has a bunch of Vets doing that already in Hamilton, Bancks, Archibald, Defazio, Acton, Zalewski that will do it better than him. |

Exactly... like who the hell is Zach Phillips?? picked 28th
but hey, we got Sven Baertschi who was selected 13th, and Clendening who was 36th pick ....
but we could have had : Ty Rattie (32nd), Tomas Jurco (35th), Boone Jenner (37th)
Brandon Saad (45th) or Nikita Kucherov (58th) |

He has a boatload of talent, just needs to put it all together. He might always be a frustrating player, but i'm not ready to give up on a guy because he hasn't become a consistent NHLer by now. We talk about the Detroit model but are ready to give up on prospects by the time they're 22. |

Should he be qualified, yes definitly.
Will he be qualified.....hard to tell what Benning is thinking, there are not a whole lot of spots available and a lot of players.
A guy like Andersson who is not a very hyped prospect has been rumored that he has already been told he will not get a contract and is currently on the top pairing in Utica with Sanguinetti. |
