Semin needs to be as far away from the Sabres as possible. - SABRES 89
At his age, production or lack thereof, motivation, and salary he could be in the bottom 10-15 least valuable players in the league. Why would we want a young developing team learning to be pros with him? |

It means exactly what it says. Some people think the cost to acquire ROR is too much. The blog was a suggestion on how to add an upgrade to the top-6 for a cheaper price. |

Grabner and Reilly could be low risk options as well. |

Did you guys see that Johan Larsson was seen meeting with a coach of a Swedish league team? Speculation that he might be looking to go back home and play. May see too much center depth in Buffalo. Maybe forces GMTM's hand to trade him if he is serious about wanting out of Buffalo. |

The suggestion was Hodgson. You wouldn't take Semin over him? |

Im not making too much of the situation until there's some credible reports. All we know for now is he's met with a coach. He might just be looking for contract leverage, like Galchenyuk and the KHL. |

No, it seems preposterous to me. I think people are viewing him like he was 5 years ago still. |

Yeah, I didn't take too much from it except that he met with a coach but just something to keep an eye on. |

He had 1 bad season. 2 years ago he had 42 points in 65 games. The year before 44 in 44 games. |

Yeah we don't need this. It's not always about the numbers.
ARLINGTON, Va. - Old friends Alex Ovechkin and Alexander Semin planned to get together for dinner Monday night, ahead of the Washington Capitals' big game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday.
It's safe to say Troy Brouwer would not be joining them.
Brouwer took a few potshots at Semin's work ethic after Monday's practice, reviving the reputation that dogged the talented but enigmatic Russian's seven seasons in Washington. The Capitals finally said goodbye to Semin last summer, and he signed with the Hurricanes as a free agent.
"It was tough to lose his scoring ability, when he wanted to play," Brouwer said. "But all in all I think we've been doing well without him. ... Some nights you didn't even know if he was going to come to the rink. It's tough to play alongside guys like those because you don't know what you're going to get out of 'em."

This is the exact reason I said Sharp wouldn't be a bad option. - sbroads24
Sharp is garbage to this team. By the time it matters, he's worthless. Murray won't trade for a guy like that unless it's pennies on the dollar. |

I'd take Sharp over Semin 8 days a week, and I don't want Sharp here at all. |

Once in a WGR interview they asked Murray what's wrong with Hodgson and he said, nothing, that Nolan was playing him on the wrong line. |

I've been saying this too, so I'm obviously not the only person that heard the interview. I really don't think he gets bought out because Murray knows he's capable of being productive. |

the biggest problem i have seen in hodgsons game is his body strength, he loses control of the puck anytime a defender leans into him. Maybe more time in the weight room can help. It won't be easy to move him to another team with his contract and with the sabres lack of depth at the right wing position i think they may keep him for another season before deciding to buy him out .. or not |

Yeah, he's about to magically appear underneath the giant magical, mystical mushroom in the walking garden outside FNC. Quick, someone grab him... |

Pennies on the dollar is the point.
I can't wait until Murray blows everyone away with his lack of moves this offseason.
Remember when he desperately tried to trade all our 2nd rounder to get back into the 1st and no one would play ball? Takes 2 GM'S to make a trade
You guys are living in dreamland if you think teams are just going to hand out top 6 young players to Tim Murray |

This is why GM'S should talk less. I will be very pleased if they could get an under 24 top 6 stud, without having to overpay, but I doubt it happens easily |
