i read that, I forgot who wrote that, but all it said, was phoenix and buffalo should be interested in trading for Savards contract.

You're wasting your time, they don't get it. It's always " more years or more picks " or " we can't trade this player or these players are going to be a studs " it never changes. 17 years with Darcy a shade under 2 decades and we have nothing to show for all his bulls$$t, no matter what people say.

No let's sign some over the hill free agents like green that will want backbreaking albatross contracts since they will want 6 year terms. Our future core of eichel, Reinhart and ristoleinen are 18, 19, and 20 next year. Tons of teams make the playoffs with their three best players that young. Cup 2015/16!!!!!!

Nobody should be in danger of not hitting the floor. Just over pay guys who can actually play. Players will have no problem getting over paid. The way, like mentioned earlier is we take Savard and his contract plus a good player for taking Savard off their hands.

If they're going the route of adding 2 D like Martin and Green, then it means they got rid of 2 of Zadorov, Pysyk, & McCabe plus more for 2 of Rychel, Drouin, Eberle.

If they get rid of any of Zadorov, Pysyk, or McCabe for older close to be has been top 6 wingers, there's a big, big problem.

We have to realize that even though we have a TON of young talent, it's still gonna take them time to develop consistency & learn how to win
Boston is on the downswing, but Florida is getting better & Montreal will be tough as long as they have Price. Tampa is clearly the cream of the crop in our division.
So we've got some pretty decent conpetition we will have to pass, and that's just to get to the ECF

Agreed, only way Savard comes to the Sabres (or Phoenix for that matter) is if someone else is coming with them.

But he isn't even on the Caps top pp unit anymore
For the 5mil+ it would cost for him to be a 3rd pair defenseman... I just don't see it being worth it.
I'd frankly rather our 3rd pair be Weber-Pysyk
