My overall point is that, I will be happy with one, yes ONE damn cup in the next 10 years, since we have ZERO so far.

in those other years, were they ever considered cup contenders? Maybe 2011, but most thought they were lucky to get there in the first place.

We got more pieces, which gives us a better shot at landing high quality players but we won't be able to see that as soon as next year.

Sure we will, evander kane was brought in with picks from the miller trade. TM also said he wants to trade that nyi pick. So we can see someone as early as next year from the Vanek trade.

There's still so much that needs to be figured out, and that can only happen over time.

This cup run from tampa is 7 years removed from Stamkos' draft date. Yea, it can take that long.

It only took 2 years after he was drafted to become a serious threat in the East.

Now they did miss the playoffs the next two seasons.

The point is it is possible to make a run that quickly.

Just need players to step up earlier than expected and/or the right moves to be made.
