3.364 would make it so Dallas has 9+ mil tied up in goalies.
That's a good chunk of change. - dadeadhead
That is true. Didn't seem to be too happy with Lehtonen this year though. I could see them trying to move him, though his value probably isn't all that high considering he had a rough year and his cap hit is a lot more than I would want. |

He'll be 32 in November
Has a 5.9 cap hit
3 more years remaining
Limited NTC
He's going to be a hard contract to move. |

It wouldn't surprise me if Murray did offer sheet someone. He has the personality type that would do something like that. It sounded like he had something for the offseason in the works back at the deadline though, so I would have to guess that whoever our #1 ends up being this year comes to us this summer via trade. |

Gibson
Campbell
Jones
In that order would be my guess. |

Can't say I'd complain about any of them. Gibson and Campbell are two guys I've liked for a while. Didn't know much about Jones until recently. |

The Hockey Writers on Yahoo have pointed out 3 players Murray may be targeting or should target,
1 ROR
2 Jimmy Howard
3 Patrick Marleau
I can't wait to hear how all are useless and overpaid. - SABRES 89
I'll take RO and Marleau (he only has 2 years left on contract) but I'll pass on Howard as I think we can do just as good elsewhere for less money and less term. |

I agree, no need to spend 5 mill on a goalie. I hope he doesn't go after Lehner, he is one I don't want. |

Only person I would be interested in offer sheeting would be Saad. 6 years 36 mil.
Not sure they can take on a 5+ mil cap increase with him.
I think LA would easily match Toffoli, and maybe even Jones with Quick getting older.

If they do get both then Reinhart 100% plays in Rochester next year.
I'll pass on Howard as well as it looks like he going to be fighting for his job next season and he isn't someone I want to pay almost $6 million a year for. |

Saad is a product of how good the Hawks are, take him off that team and is he still good ? i'm not willing to throw all that money at him. |

I think so. He is a good 2 way player, can score, and is only 22 I think.
At 6 mil I think it only costs a 1st,2nd, and 3rd
Which we have multiple 3rds in 2016.
Might be cheaper cap wise, and cost wise than ROR |

They have a tad over 9 mil in cap space.
Factor in Voynov's 4.16 cap hit, they have only 4.8ish remaining.
They can go 10% over the cap but that only works til the season starts.
IMO neither LA or Chicago can take on a hit like that. |

The thing is though that entire contract would be while he is in his twenties.
Rumor is he might sign a bridge at 4-4.5 mil for 2 seasons.

There is the notion, though, that if you think a player is that good, you figure out a way to make it work. The question becomes how important do either Chicago or LA think they really are? |

Jason Lewis did a breakdown of how they could fit those two, and Toffoli and Jones if they are able to move Voynov, and buy out Richards.
The Hawks have more issues, with the need for them to add a defensemen, not to mention probably losing Oduya, it would be tougher for them IMO |

I think Saad would do well anywhere, not sure he is a consitent 30 goal guy but I'd take him on my team. |

Agreed.
Sharp gets moved and Saad slots into his slot on the cap.
LA has harder salaries to move.
Jones and Toffoli are right for the poaching. |

The problem is you have to get a guy to sign an offer sheet. While money talks, so do championships, and his chance to win one looks to be greater with Chicago right now than it would with Buffalo. |

Again Sharp will be moved and Saad will slide in there cap wise. Bickell will also be moved IMO.
LA needs a miracle. |

I do that offer sheet.
Sabres 1st (5-10), Sabres 2nd and 3rd next year.. Question becomes, can we trade for him for a cheaper price than 2 picks and a lottery 1st? |
