I'm glad the shine is off JB. More realistic conversations can now take place.
I wonder how long it's going to take for that to happen to babcock. - bloatedmosquito
3 weeks before they fire him. |

Babcock is a good coach but has glistened in Detroit because of his scouting staff and to some extent Ken Holland.
Hes in for a horrendous wake up call.

Van Province suggests Canucks trade Hamhuis and prospect to CHI for Brent Seabrook, so they can save 1.3M in cap space. Man these reporters are bored as well! - VanHockeyGuy

I'd bet anyone here they move Crawford, Bickell, Sharp before they even think about moving Seabrook. He's considered their 2nd leader after Toews. |

He has a .924 save percentage in both the season and playoffs. That's a damn good bad year! Some guys here think SJ might want Miller with his poopty .911 save percentage.
He's better than Niemi and most of the other goalies available in the trade market are unproven as starters and that always scares some teams. |

I still say people take idle chatter and proposals way too far here. We have/had 5 months of nothing to talk about except the draft day and July 1 St and everyone gets their knickers in a twist as soon as anyone says a trade proposal. Everyone should just walk in here and say " What's up , anything new, ok see you tomorrow"
News bulletin , we are not the GMs . We go through this same crap every summer |

I'm fine with trade proposals and ideas, but sometimes people don't think about it from both sides. Put yourselves in the shoes of the opposing team's fan and ask yourself if you really think that would be the best deal for them and that they would't get offered better or be better off doing something else to solve their problems instead of helping out their beloved Canucks. |

First of all he has the Hawks D and forwards in front of him. If I was him I would be buying them all Rolex's . He was pulled a few times this year for stretches including in the playoffs because he stunk , just like the last game. |

Good luck getting one. We don't have the prospects to bring a top Dman back. We can trade for an older one or a Clendenning type that no one cares about or won't change our output |

I agree that his stats are a bit inflated since his save percentage on low quality shots is among the best in the league and he's average when facing higher quality shots according to the sites that track these numbers.
According to the sites that now adjust save percentages based on the quality of shots they faced, he still had a top 10 season.
He's not elite, but it's not crazy to suggest he's a solid starter and a top 15 goalie. |

3 soft goals in 37 seconds. He is Luongo .2 but he does have 2 rings |

That's why you have to draft and develop some. That's how contenders are built these days, it makes more sense to go out and make a big splash when you already have a team on the rise, not when you're still trying to build a pool of solid young talent.
No point in having Seabrook for the last 3-4 years of his prime when this team won't be contending. Especially since it's going to cost a top 4 d-man, plus a top prospect. |

Almost every goalie has poopty stretches of play. But okay, you win. He sucks. |

Seabrook is better than Hamhuis . If I am closing between the two every day of the week I take Seabrook |
