When is he ready? 2 years 5 years? - VANTEL
I'd say four years for Demko. That gives Markstrom enough time as a 25 year old to establish himself as an NHL starter. |

I'm sure that's a part of it, but as a center, you've gotta be able to skate. Maybe he should be put on the wing. I think Vigneault had him on the wing didn't he? - LeftCoaster
AV tried him at center. And he was god awful in his own end.
Kid was protected pretty hard in a stackedline up. |

I wouldn't touch his contract with a ten foot pole. - thundachunk
Exactly and he is a fringe player now. Plus we need to move forward away from anything from the past. We finally rid ourselves of the jackasses Kesler and Lou and now we get Hogdson's old man back plus his whiney bull$hit? No thank you. |

Yes I remember they sheltered him pretty good. He was good on the PP though, if memory serves me? |

I see Hansen come up with the puck more than anyone else on the forecheck - VANTEL
Hansen is our best forechecker as he has the footspeed to make it happen. Burrows is still ok but getting slower every year...actually I might put Higgins ahead of Burrows on the forecheck sometimes. It's bloody sad that those three are our best forecheckers...Benning must be scratching his head over that one. Not everyone can have a heavy Anaheim forecheck but man is that something to watch at times. |

Not sure why people still don't trust Lack. Better SV% than Miller. He's like 27 already and has had experience starting 20+ in a row.
If people would never going to trust a guy that hasn't started 60 games in a season then they'll never be any new starting goalies. |

I don't know about trust? From my perspective he's a legit starter in the NHL, just want him moved to add to the cupboards. We need a 2nd or 3rd round dman like Duncan Keith...please Lord just once in my lifetime draft a Norris caliber defenseman. |

In the next two years both will be dealt IMO, one this summer and one next summer or deadline or draft. |

Exactly. Also Miller had a pretty big injury at the end of last year how will his mobility be this year. Do we need to order crates of Ben Gay |

Lack has to go, he is the only goalie with trade value. Unfortunately, I would be shocked if we got a 1st rounder. Mid second rounder is likely the current goalie market. Markstrom is younger and more talented and it's time we give him a legit shot.
Vantel, please stop talking about bringing Cody back. It's making my hangover a lot worse |

You're "lacking" foresight this morning buddy...moving Miller would be an extremely difficult task. For all the reasons you're downplaying his worth, other teams will be doing the same thing.
Maybe it's just me, but the team plays well in front of Miller, he can split about 20 games with Markstrom. |

I think the mindset of style is changing . Virtanen is a bull in a China shop . Cassels and McCann can play with a bit of an edge too. I still hate our current D . I would move everyone with maybe the exception of Tanev. I would start bringing in specialist on the D. You can see by the way Benning drafted last year and his trades, he is looking for more size and toughness. |

First off I think Hodgson is on a make or break year. He had a terrible year on an AHL bottom feeder team. That team was tanking all the way and the lineups they put together were appalling. The year before he was top line centre and scored 20 goals and 22 assists. He is now proclaimed a bust because he had a terrible year on a terrible team.
Let's see his numbers this year when the team has Eichel and Evander Kane |

Cole Cassels will pull a boho next year and leave WD no choice but to give him a look at 4th line center.

Evander Kane is so incredibly overrated I cant believe it. Hes always hurt and has a minimal impact when he is playing. |

I think I am looking at the future fine. Everyone here wants to trade a bonafide NHL goalie for a second round draft pick that may one day make the NHL . In two years or less when the game passes Miller by, hopefully Markstrom can step in , even though he has failed on three different occassions.
Hell of a plan |
