Vey was cut way more slack from WD than he earned. Assuming Richardson is gone next year, who's going to keep him in the press box and push him?

You think that whoever you get at 9 will have more upside than LD or is Braun the sticking point?
- belcherbd

I wouldn't give up that #9 pick in a trade for LD, hoping that Provorov or Werenski are there at #9. Sharks got alot of forward prospects inthe pipeline coming up so trading a #9 pick for one doesn't make sense we need to stock pile blueliners & goalies right now. If it was Braun + something else (obviously it depends on that something else) but i'd do it, even though it would hurt inthe short term losing Braun.

I know I'm going to get burned for this and I realize I am in the minority here but I'm happy for Kesler and enjoy watching him have success against the Hawks.

Ya it sucks that he only gave one team(although he reportedly gave CHI as well) but that was his right as stipulated in his contract, I can't blame a player for the NTC that is on mgmt, specifically Gillis.

Kesler was one of my favorite players when he was here, and the team misses his hard-nosed play and secondary scoring. He deserves to play with a talented team and he is delivering. Too bad Benning wasn't able to get a better return for him but that's life and I still can't blame Kesler for that.

I usually like your posts, but I don't understand this? deserve?

Disneyland used to be the happiest place on earth, can't see it being very happy with that pos walking around down there.

He is the kind of guy when everything goes right, he is a major factor, but when everything doesn't, it isn't his fault, here come the excuses. I liked some of his play on the ice but he is often cheap and dirty. I have more respect for Matt Cooke.

Botchford had some very unflattering words about him this morning. When things go good he is front and centre. When they go bad he is out of there.

I don't care if he is a good player, he was a horrible team mate .

The contrast between him and the Sedins, night and day.

Supposed to be one of the biggest dbags off the ice too. Maybe that shouldn't matter, it is all about on ice performance, but it is like someone with body odor- might be a good person, but would rather avoid them because they make you want to puke. From afar, not so bad.

Fair enough, agree to disagree.

I don't think he is a pos, while I hated the diving, I liked everything else about his game and personality when he was here. I think he was a major factor even when everything wasn't going right, case in point the 2010 olympics or his last season here in Van.

He plays the game on the edge but I wouldn't call him cheap or dirty or compare his hits to Cooke.

I think Perry, Lucic, Marchand, Keith plays are dirty for the slewfoots, stickwork, elbows, etc.

Kesler is annoying but I can't recall watching him cross that line the same way the above players have. His hit on Dorsett this year was high and could of been a penalty but really wasn't that bad.

I don't mind the Ducks . The biggest thing that bothered me about Kesler was his selfishness on and off the ice.

Perry is one of my favourite players

Can't recall which Hawk he was on top of a game or two ago, with his stick on the guy's throat, pushing down so he couldn't breathe...

You need edgy guys on your team. He likes the stickwork and picks his spots. But he isn't as bad as Cooke.

That is fair if you like him. I just don't think class ever belongs in the same sentence as his name unless it is followed by less.

Heard stories second hand about how arrogant he was at the Arena, never spoke to anyone, expected doors to be opened for him and everyone to kiss his ass, but this was in contrast to Luongo who was known to be very friendly, knew everyone's names from top to bottom and had time for these people.

Perry passes the puck and plays nice with linemates . Kesler very seldom ever passed when he was here

Maybe on ice personality, off ice Perry seems more approachable. But who knows until you sit down and have a beer with them.

Don't know why I have such a hate on for Kesler.

Watching that play the other day on Kreuger, just thought that has to be pretty distressing not being able to breathe with some guy holding our down leaning on your neck.

Kesler is great when he is on his game. Not disputing that. Just doesn't see like much of a person. Hate the lies and bs when he asked to be traded and hearing how wonderful it was in Cali as opposed to life in BC.

Outside of hockey, he is

Do you think that's more to do with perception than reality? I agree that he seemed like a selfish player but I'm not so sure that's true once I looked at his numbers.

NHL totals: 736 gms, 202 g, 238 a, 440 p, 669 pim

In 2009-2010 he had 25 goals, 50 assists, in 82 games. In the 12 playoff games he had that year; 1 goal, 9 assists.

When he was on the U.S. national team he was listed as a playmaker. Do you think the quality of line mates he had might have something to do with the perception of selfishness?

I wish I shared that same optimism. His upper body is weak as hell.

It bugs me even more that the guy on the left hits just as much as the guy on the right though.
