I still want the team built like Anaheim. He's just not the type of player I want around a young group. Give me winners. - buffalokb
simmonds would look good on that second line with reinhart/girgens and moulson |

Maybe i'm reading it wrong but, Garth thinks we should offer a 3rd round pick and the 21st pick for Bylsma and Sutter ? Poor Garth. - SABRES 89
You read it right.
21st OA for Brandon Sutter.
Jordan Staal was traded for 8th OA, Brandon Sutter and Brian Dumoulin. Where iin that sentence does that equate to Brandon Sutter being worth 21st OA.
Garth's trade ideas rank amongst the worst on this entire website. Probably 2nd worst to all Sabres affiliated posters. |

I would love Simmonds, he would be a great addition. Not sure philly would let him go. His cap hit is low for what he brings. It would probably take an nhl ready prospect plus #21 and possibly #31 in the draft. |

At this point (well, for years I suppose) what he writes is easily spun into a trolling attempt directed at someone or something. Even if he sounds serious, which typically makes it worse, he says things that are just the worst and people need to watch the wreckage. |

I must be a rare breed then, because I have no want or need to take part in that at all. |

I hope we trade all of our picks except for #2 obv. We have more than enough prospects. You can only have so many before you have guys that will never get a fair shot and will want a trade anyways. |

Fair enough, I don't wanna rush the rebuild but if the right guys are available let's make some deals and accelerate things. |

And when we need prospects in 5 years to replace the 70% of the ones we have now that don't pan out, we'll have none. |

This. There are enough in the system right now that we can make some trades, have a few not pan out, and still be fine for the most part depth wise. But, they definitely will need to probably move a few, because with the amount they've drafted over the past 2-3 years, there won't be enough contracts to go around. They did afford themselves some wiggle room by drafting more euros and NCAA kids though because you get an extra year to sign those guys. |

That's where I disagree, the majority will pan out. Glass half full and besides our core is pretty much set except for maybe a player or two. So the prospects we have will most likely be bottom six and those guys are easier to develop. |

You don't just go out there and pick up any player with whatever picks you have.
I mean, as far as the 21 OA, I'd love to use that to move up for find a young player. Maybe even use 1 of the 2nd rounders to better the offer. But as far as the rest of the picks, finding a solid defenseman should be priority, even if he's 3 years away from the NHL. Our depth there is not good. Late rounders can be used on goalies and boom or busts. And 3rd round picks can become Nick Baptiste, or for you pickier 'he hasn't proven himself yet' crowd, Marchand, Quick or Letang. |

aside from goalies, there is no depth on this organization, mostly due to rushing up kids to play in the nhl |

Really hope we don't rush this rebuild...another year of picking in the top 10 will not hurt any of our young players...quite the contrary
and i'm gonna say about 90% chance that Reinhart is with the big boy club for the entire year |

NHL caliber defensemen, I agree with you. Past Pysyk, who honestly should have been here last year, all we have is a plug in Ruhwedel. Florentino and Martin are at least a few years away. After those guys..

I'm curious as to how much mass he puts on. And if his speed improves with it. |

i feel like that issue will be addressed with a few "project" picks in rounds 2/3/4
