Agreed currently all of our top centers are under 22.. Potential is great just next year may surprise people.
IMO the jump just to get out of rock bottom is huge. Leafs, devils, yotes, canes should be below us...besides that I cant see may teams below us - yen6d1
Agreed. |

JVince and Homie on the exact same page again...
You guys are treating Reinhart like he is some mid round draft pick and wasn't the top forward in the entire draft. Get real guys... there is a reason why he was taken so high and with a better team around him in the NHL he will do just fine. I'm not putting a number on it but I am sure we will mix our lines up quite a bit but I expect him to get a lot of minutes. - JVince11
Very debatable. This was one of the weakest drafts in a long time. There was no consensus top pick. In fact he was rated 3rd |

You said 50 points is realistic for a rookie joining the worst team in the league. a Team whos leading point scorer last year put up 46 points. Sorry but its not realistic - MCGUIZZY
I'm sure people said that same thing about Filip Forsberg heading to the worst scoring team in the NHL in Nashville last year where Colin Wilson and Smith were their top scorers and they just traded for James Neal.
How'd that turn out?
its not about superstars... sometimes it just about chemistry between the players. |

Is this happening right now or are you taking the 'what has he done' to the extreme. - TheSabresTaco
He hasn't done anything " record breaking "as of yet but the whole team is bad. Next year will be different for him and the other players without a doubt. |

Just my own observation as I am a guy who was sucked into the whole... "we need a rugged guy on every line who can fight if needed like a Stewart, Lucic, etc"
Then you look at the top teams in the playoffs and standings every year....
Chicago, TB, Anaheim, Detroit, Montreal, etc.... NONE of them have big bruisers on their top lines.
its all just hub-bub. - JVince11
Perry, Getzlaf, Saad, Sharp isn't a slouch, Kreider, Johan Franzen? |

Reinhart is the #1 rated prospect in Hockey's Future rankings for the ENTIRE NHL... that is ANY prospect drafted that still is prospect status.
But you right... he sucks.... put him in the AHL with Sundher, Carrier, and Kea as linemates. When he scores 165 pts you'd think he was okay. |

and what if he plays top line with eichel and kane
girgens is on second line
kane will protect him
how many points would be realistic?
a hell of a lot more then 50 - homiedclown[/quote]
My head is going to explode.
So he automatically turns into Malkin or Getzlaf who had around 70 points this season???
Im sorry, but you are WAY off base here. |

Getzlaf does fight when needed but I think he averages about 5 majors a season if that. I don't think I have ever seen Perry fight and not Sharp either. Or Franzen for that matter. They might be taller and bigger guys but they aren't known as "protectors" or big aggressive guys. Saad... sure.. maybe I can see your argument. |

He'd also be facing the other teams toughest defenders. It's true his linemates at the beginning of last season were bad, but so was the matchup. He may get Kane and Eichel on his line, but if his skating and size still aren't up to par, the top pair defence will manhandle him. - Sabresfan-365

Forsberg is the PERFECT realistic example... NSH was the worst scoring team in hockey if I believe so myself and their leading scorers were in the 40s. He was a rookie coming in after spending a half year in juniors/AHL then started with the big club the next season and exploded this year.
Realistic. Not saying he'll get 63 but you cannot say it can't happen based on that it EXACTLY happened last year. |

Nobody is saying that. Just that it's way too early to just assume he's top 6 ready. |

We also dont have a Josi Weber or Rinne. The improvement will happen its tough to measure because we were below rock bottom |

Saad is such a bruiser he had 53 hits the entire season this year.
Getzlaf - 100
Perry - 64
Sharp - 74
I'm not seeing it.
Ryan Callahan in TB is the most imposing physically on the stat sheets. |
