Lefty from last blog . It's all about playoffs baby. We won the Presidents Trophy twice now. Now time to focus on the Big Boys Cup. Regular season is just a money grabber to allow teams to fine tune and take our money. The real game is the playoffs . |

Ehrhoff was not "terrific" for Pittsburgh when he was healthy. He was solid but didn't produce as much offense as expected. He's probably a fair value between $4-$5m/yr as a 2nd pairing dmen. - jfkst1
We have Sbisa that is overpaid we don't need more |

All those saying trade Lack be careful what you hope for.
One tweak of Millers knee and Markstrom will be your starter with Eriksson the back up. |

And I am fine with taking that route?
I just wish our goalies for the Future were Lack and Markstrom and not the Old Man. That is why I would be ok with eating 2 mil of Millers salary |

Yup. Lack stays, he's proven he can handle the schedule. Miller needs to go to free up cap space too. We need it now that Sbisa making a mint. |

What if we could get rid of Sbisa but only if we replaced with Ehrhoff? - Retinalz
Ehrhoff will only be healthy for 30+ games if that.
As much of a liability as Sbisa is right now he's not injury prone like Ehrhoff. |

Ya totally get what you are saying as I do think Lack is our best option right now still in net, however if Benning gets the return he wants for Lack he most likely will pull the trigger. |

It's always been about the playoffs, that said, you've gotta work towards that goal. It's not gonna happen next season for the Canucks no matter how bad people want it, it's just not where it needs to be right now.
Thanks why I have a hard time understanding why people want to keep Lack? What for? We're not winning next year so who cares if they go with Miller.
Benning needs to set the team up for five years from now, winning right now is not important, being competitive is, but winning isn't....if management and myself/you guys are being honest with yourselves.
Lack will be 32 in five years, his value around the league I'd say is high for a guy his caliber. Trade him while is value is high. |

Vrbata for Semin, with Canes retaining $2 million of Semin's salary. |

I could give a sh*t who we keep, as long as we get a decent return. I also don't expect this team to win right now either. The division will be more competitive next year, any chinks in the armor will be more a factor. It's okay to loose, but you have to bring it every game. |

With Miller or Lack we are looking somewhere between 6-12th in the west, if one/both go down for a significant period of time we are likely missing the playoffs. Neither script has them going to the second round/conference finals/winning the cup. I am fully supportive of selling whoever brings the biggest return now and setting ourselves up for a couple seasons down the road |
