With Miller or Lack we are looking somewhere between 6-12th in the west, if one/both go down for a significant period of time we are likely missing the playoffs. Neither script has them going to the second round/conference finals/winning the cup. I am fully supportive of selling whoever brings the biggest return now and setting ourselves up for a couple seasons down the road - WhiteLie
In that case trade them both. |

Canes can't retain enough salary for that to be worth it. |

If it was eric staal with 2 mil retained, id do it |

From a clear salary cap idea trade miller for pavelec. Save 2.1 and pavs contract ends next season. - manvanfan
the Jets have Hutchinson, Hellybuck and Comrie all battling to be the starter when Pav is done, no need here for Miller. If anything the Jets will have to trade a goalie away not aquire one |

I would take Semin if they could retain 6mil and we had him for 1 mil |

i dont see erhoff or green or any one marginal to good player putting Van over the top for a cup run. better off selling assets like Bieska, Hamuis, Miller, maybe even the sedins and wait for Vertanen, McCann, Shinkaruk, Cassells and Demko to mature. Try and get some more picks or D prospects. Not a Van fan and dont kill the messanger but the window is closing right now not opening, better to sacrafice a couple years and do a mini re-stocking / re-build then suffer through a long drawn out one |

Ehrhoff would have to be less than 4, agreed. - VanHockeyGuy
I'll agree he has to be less then 4. But would you rather have Hoff at 3.5x2. Or Franson at 5x5. For me its a pretty easy choice. |

It's always been about the playoffs, that said, you've gotta work towards that goal. It's not gonna happen next season for the Canucks no matter how bad people want it, it's just not where it needs to be right now.
Thanks why I have a hard time understanding why people want to keep Lack? What for? We're not winning next year so who cares if they go with Miller.
Benning needs to set the team up for five years from now, winning right now is not important, being competitive is, but winning isn't....if management and myself/you guys are being honest with yourselves.
Lack will be 32 in five years, his value around the league I'd say is high for a guy his caliber. Trade him while is value is high. - LeftCoaster
I enjoy the regular season but put little stock into them. I think there were 19 teams last year that played on the back end of a back to back. Jet lag from the Eastern teams and everybodys best friend the Roxy give us a slight advantage too.
Next year miller can play all 82 games it doesn't matter but in three years when the prospects are playing in the NHL you would like to have two solid 28- 30 year olds |

Will Acton and Frank Corrado return tonight for the #Comets. Corrado's return means either Huskins (took hard hit in Gm 2) or Ehrhardt out.

I think I'd pass (no pun intended) on Erfhoff. He's just too much risk for (probably) the money he's looking for. As they say, you can never really go home again.
With respect to Semin, if the team needs bongo lessons there's always Vantel's dancing Fillipinas. A big NO THANKS (not to the Fillipinas but to Semin, just to clarify) |

Filipinas are noted for their dancing singing and driving their men crzy. If you don't believe me ask HillBilly. But they can sure dance |
