You can't judge trades with draft picks based on the success of who was selected.

I'm not sure how else you judge a trade then that involves draft picks

Flyers traded a good player, and got a good return, I agree. It's hard to understand this board sometimes. Flyers need draft picks, need to restock the depth, and build through the draft. They need more second round picks. Now that the TB pick has fallen to the bottom of the first round, it's bad luck, and it sucks, and the return is no good, before they even selected a player! I'd love for the pick to be 20th, but it's not. Still a good pick, and the Flyers have a real good chance of getting a good player with the pick.

I'm absolutely okay with the trade. First off it's not like if we had kept Coburn, we would've contended for a playoff spot this year, and it's not like he would've made the team that much better next year. And the logjam we have now, would be even worse. Secondly, like you said, we need picks to build through the draft. Who gives a flying (frank) if it's late in the first. It's still a first rounder. And the third is good too.

I am completely behind packaging the pick at this point. 29th or 30th overall and Gudas is not good value for a top 4 Dman.

Gudas was a top 4 guy on a 103 point Tampa team in 2013-14

I think people are just upset it ended dropping to 29th/30th. It's just bad luck. poop happens.

Yeah but what are you gonna do. We all knew there was a chance of that happening when we traded with one of the strongest contenders in the east. Let's be happy we have 2 first round picks, and lets be happy the (frank)ing rangers aren't going to the cup finals
