Was just about to say. They've got some good puck movers/passers but they seem to lose their mark quite often. Though that might be because a few of them are pretty young. |

Wonder how much of this has to do with Quenville getting Toews away kesler. Getzlaf's had a tough time handling him. |

Good point, The Ducks have last change tonight you'd think Boudreau would be able to get Kesler out there against him at least some of the time but HNIC says he isn't a line matcher but he has been trying to tonight. |

No reason to rush him. I think for his development it would be good to start him in the A. Let him get comfortable and he can be the main guy down there, for at least a bit of time. But if he has a good camp it would be Bylsma's call to keep him. He might. - mhp
So then Eichel should be sent to the A or stay in college?
He got sent back to junior to keep him away from the tank and Nolan. This isn't Grigorenko. Besides he will never have to be the man here with Eichel. Reinhart had a decent camp last year. This send him down to develop talk needs to stop. He was one of if not the best player on team Canada during the world juniors. Those players don't play in the minors. |

I really hoped that such talk would end once the guy that used to coach this franchise was let go. Unfortunately, it hasn't. |

The coach buried him in a position where it was almost impossible to succeed. Murray pretty much had no choice. |

Reinhart had no business being in the NHL.
As far as Nolan, his cries for Pysyk being here went unanswered by our great GM. He really gave him the best players to succeed |

Reinhart wasn't that bad. He wasn't great, but he wasn't bad. I'm not sure what people expected when a guy is inserted in the middle of such laughable ineptitude. When you're a skill player put between two players that can barely skate, the chances to succeed are nil, especially that that age.
As far as Pysyk goes, I agree. However, the only thing that made it not matter is that losing was a benefit more than a detriment. Now, as you often correctly point out, they have sub-20 centers with minimal experience. They should have let him take his lumps instead of play in a league he was way too good for. |

Can we stop acting like Nolan has this roster full of talent to work with and he mismanaged it all?
Reinhart sent down
Pysyk kept down
Armia and Grigorenko who were very good to start the year in Rochester
2 goalies traded |

When the talent was here, however, the man who used to coach this franchise did mis-manage it, badly. Murray essentially came out and said as much.
Fortunately, it was a blessing in disguise. |

He was not good, not ready for the NHL, and pretty much everyone in the organization thought that way. It was a unanimous decision and Murray even said so |

He didn't belong, if he did, Nolan, you know the guy fighting to keep his coaching career alive would have played him.
He wanted the better players here, was that not painfully obvious with his comments on Pysyk, and always playing the hot goalie? |

There were players that could play this game on this roster last year, and could play it well. It took the former coach of this team to have his roster depleted before he finally put Johan Larsson in a position that played to his strengths. Cody Hodgson, as bad as he was, rarely played with players that matched his skill set. This team was bad, but it's not like they had a team full of guys that accomplished absolutely nothing. |

The same guy that said 18 year olds don't belong in the NHL unless they had the talent level of a Crosby, despite the fact that there were far less "talented" players of that age holding their own? Yes, that guy. |

This rewriting history thing gets old.
Larsson played with skill players because Zemgus Girgensons was injured, that's pretty much it.
My god, what talent are you talking about, our GM called up Phil Varone instead of Grigorenko |

If Murray's as active this off-season as people think the same may hold true for next year. Trading for O'Reilly and signing Williams Basically puts Reinhart back in that bottom 6 role because when push comes to shove any established coach in the league is going to pick his vet over the newbie.
To get Reinhart that ice time in the top 6 right away would require Murray leaving Bylsma with no choice. |
