shea weber anyone? - homiedclown
I put Doughty and Keith above him. While Weber hasn't been surrounded with as much talent in Nashville as the others, it's not like they were the Buffalo Sabres. Doughty and Keith have constantly made a huge impact in big moments. Weber lacks that, so far. That's not to say he can't, just that he hasn't. |

I like Weber, but if I had to pick out of him, Doughty or Keith to build around, I would pick Keith, Doughty, then Weber. The other two have gotten the job done when their team needed them to, I don't think you can say the same about Weber.
That's not to say he's not a great defenseman, because he is. But when the game is on the line, the other 2 are a step above him IMO. |

flip side to that
put weber on the kings or hawks and put doughty or keith on the preds
are the preds better, worse or the same? |

Better. It's a cliche, but I do believe the "it" factor is inherent. When you have it, you have it, and it will be exemplified no matter where you play. |

I think you put the 3 in a hat to rank them
if arron rodgers is the jaguar or raider qb, that team still sucks |

Hawks in 6.
It just goes to show that big time players step up in big time situations.
Toews and Kane just crazy when it matters the most. I read somewhere that in elimination games Kane has 5 straight multi-point games. Then there is Toews. If Reinhart could be 3/4th as good as him with Eichel there is no reason the Sabres shouldn't be the team in the East. |

Disagree. The QB position can single handed change a team. The QB can make everyone (at least on the offensive side of the ball) that much better (or worse). |

Agree Rodgers has pretty much turned all his receivers into great players. Not sure jordy Nelson would be anything if ej Manuel was his qb. |

I watch Weber enough to know the guy is pretty clutch himself...
And does have the "it" factor. |

Good qb's also make a defense exponentially better by keeping them off the field and rested. Also the other teammate frequently plays from behind which makes them one dimensional and so fourth. |

Are you putting Hedman and Ekblad over Weber because of age? |

Not sure I would put Hedman 3rd. But I like 1 and 2 for sure
To clarify on Hedman there is another level to his game I think that he hasn't reached just yet. |

I'd give Ekblad a few more seasons before putting him in front of Weber.
He could turn into Myers. |
