Just listened to the Benning interview. He let a couple of Tells slip in.

He said he will let WD decide if Sven plays 2 nd line next year or 3 Rd.

He said our young guys will also be tougher . I take that as he has Virtanen making the roster seeing we don't have any other young tough guys.

He also made a reference to recovering picks with a goalie. See ya Eddie , he just referred to Markstrom as a young Ben Bishop.

High praises for Grenier , I think we found Matthias's replacement.

Talked about Clendennings last few solid games and how well he moves the puck, see ya Kev

And I bet nobody would take the sedins in their prime

I didn't know we were discussing the Sedins , I thought we were talking Stamkos

Sven will start on the 3rd line, then move up over the course of the season like Horvat did.

Still think Virtanen's a year away, he needs to work on his defensive game, not to mention the shoulder injury set him back a bit. Grenier's probably more likely to make it then Virtanen.

I think it depends, there might be a chance he gets rid of Miller, if only to help with the cap issues we have for this year. He's got to be thinking that if the Canadian dollar falls any lower that the cap might even drop a couple million next year. Him talking about Markstrom could just be pumping up his value to other GMs. I can't see JB letting Eddie go, not after the Schneider/Luongo disaster. Markstrom's expendable too.

I agree, I think it's more likely that Grenier makes the team than Virtanen does. Let's not forget that Bo was the exception this year, no coach is going to trust an 18-19 year old on their team unless they're desperate like the Oilers or else is head and shoulders better than who they have on the roster (McKinnon, Ekblad, McDavid, Eichel, etc.) As good as Virtanen looks, he's still got holes in his game and unless he outperforms Hansen, Burrows, Vrbata, I don't see him taking a spot in the lineup, not with Baertchi in the mix and slated to make the team.

That might just mean that Clendenning is only going to be one of the 11 he considers NHL-ready, it doesn't necessarily mean he's going to move Bieksa (although god knows I want him gone). We might see Bieksa spend a lot of time in the press box though, which might be better for the team all things considered considering the amount of injuries the D-core endures every season.

So Matthias and Richardson out. Probably a couple of trades. A few new additions to next year's roster. If anyone wants to play along with predidictions , predict next year's roster.

I think Higgins Bieksa Vrbata

Sedin Sedin Kassian
Burrows Bonino Grenier
Sven Horvat Virtanen
Hansen Vey Dorsett

Kenins

Edler Tanev
Hamhuis Weber
Sbisa Clendenning
Sanguinetti Pecan

Miller
Markstrom

Baertschi Bonino Vrbata
Higgins Horvat Hansen

I think WD looked at Weber /Hamhuis as decent pairing.
I will be disappointed if we don't make one big trade for. Good Dman.

Weber got 11 goals last year, I wonder what kind of money he wants

If he wants too much, move him.

But Henrik said he was a great addition to the pp when he became a regular there at the end of the season. That right hand shot. (pumped his tires)

I believe it was you that called the Rangers in the cup final at the beginning of the year.

Well done Swami.

I'm pretty excited by this crop of prospects and how they are performing in the playoffs so far...

Resivoir dogs better then Pulp Fiction

That's like says the smurfs are better then the dark night trilogy

- Bieksa#3

Yeah I'm with you on that one.

Resevoir Dogs was very good but also extremely raw at the same time. But people like that about it and I get it.

But Pulp Fiction was just way more polished throughout with better storytelling/dialogue IMO.

RD was a transitional film that led to Pulp Fiction being so great. But having said that both films are very good and Jackie Brown is right there with them if not better in some ways.

At least we have a head start on SJ with prospects, still playing catchup with the rest of the division when it comes to 25 and under players/prospects.

I feel like Tampa is flat out better offensively, but Lundqvist is money so I decided not to put any money on this.

I wouldn't put top much stock into what the Sedins say. They pump everyone's tires. They still say good things about Tortorella, for feck sakes.

I wouldn't really put any stock into what anyone says, WD says everyone is "real good", Benning can make Sbisa actually sound like a capable NHL d-man when he describes him, and the Sedins love everyone, even their opponents.

Media training 101.

That being said, that first unit definitely looked a lot better with a dangerous point shot, it allows the Sedins a second option besides Vrbata.

If Horvat isn't on the PP next year I'll laugh.

Clendening's defensive game still scares me, plus I prefer PMD's to be good skaters and he's just average. He's a good passer and has a decent shot though. Will need easy/sheltered 3rd pairing minutes and PP time to be effective.

I have said many times I would trade all 6 but will say Tanev is the best
