Objective re is from TSN's analytics guy on Winnipeg's needs in offseason.

"Acquired in the blockbuster deal that sent Evander Kane and Zach Bogosian to Buffalo, Tyler Myers had to enjoy moving to a more competitive team. While Myers was productive enough, his relative possession stats actually got slightly worse with the Jets - perhaps a reflection of the strength of the Winnipeg defence - so he didn't suddenly turn into a standout defender. Even so, it's well worth a look to see if the smooth-skating 6-foot-8 blueliner can at least handle a top-four role."

That's pretty tepid, I'd say.

Myers I'd definitely a top4 guy
Doesn't mean he still doesn't have work to do though. Esp in his own end.
He still has the potential to be very good

I think it's risky to trade for him
He seems like a guy that really wants to cash in
So even if we can extend him,
Would it be smart to pay him 7mil per?
I think we should look elsewhere

If Boston decides to rebuild...
Grigorenko for Marchand

I'd like to get Shaw from Chicago. I could see him blossoming much like Laad did when he was able toget more icetime in Winnipeg.

I'd also target JT miller from the rangers
They're having big time cap issues, and he might be a guy we can pry away.

Mantha is also potentially available from Detroit. I guess they're unhappy with his performance in the AHL playoffs & may look to move on if the price is right.

Not sure what it would take on our end for any of these guys?
But they seem like potential realistic targets.

I'm pretty sure Giroux's natural position is RW, although he is one of the few true pure Forwards in the game, I suppose, as he can slot to the wing and play C. I think Philly would be wise to keep him on the wing, however. He isn't the largest and if you keep him out of the circle, it prolongs his career a little. He said a few years ago Crosby just slashed him every single faceoff he took against him (its why he eventually fought him in that series) and he had to have surgery on BOTH wrists because of it. Just my opinion of course. But they could use some depth at C, which we have and they aren't about to give Simmonds away but I don't care, I say back the truck up for him.

He's their #1 center, not their #1 RW

Damn it! My bad
There are ppl here that really want ROR though
Which I get, BC he's a heck of a player
It's just very risky to get him resigned, and can we do it at a reasonable price?

I think we'd be better off with Burmistrov
Wouldn't cost as much to get him, or sign him. And could give us similar 2way play

I'm all for heathy debate
But it's lame that ppl will randomly just take shots at others to get a reaction
No reason we can't be cordial to one another.

If the Hawks win, are they a dynasty?

Also, As soon as its over I call on Corey Crawford to see if they want to move him.

No to Crawford. makes way too much money for his skill set.. he is a decent goalie but he is not Ryan Miller elite

I think they're as close to a dynasty as we'll see in the salary cap era. They've been to WCF 5 out of 7 years, and are on their 3rd SCF appearance in that time.

Oh, and Jonathan Toews is an animal.

I saw that. Felt that maybe I should be offended a bit. Then moved on because frankly, it's not worth it.

On the Nucks thread yesterday I offered 31 for Eddie Lack. Most of the posters there were in favor, some wanted 31 and 51 though. Some wanted our 1st for Lack. I even offered Foligno and 51. Benning wants additional picks to get back in the 2nd/3rd rounds.

Would you do 31 for Lack? Add to it?

GO!

Maybe not the Oilers, but ya, I'd call them a dynasty.
Plus, they'll still have a chance to win more.
Even though they're in Cap trouble, they'll still have their core intact & have numerous good young players to fill bigger roles

U could make an argument that Kane is the league's most dynamic forward, Toews is the best leader & clutch performer, and they have the top defensive pair when they put Keith & Seabrook together.
With that as a foundation, the Hawks will still be a contender for years to come

Even if they lose u could prob call them a dynasty
