Pegula is doing great things for the Buffalo hockey market and growing the youth leagues.
The Buffalo Jr. Sabres are hosting a minor hockey tournament this fall and it will be a great event.

Coming down from TO (not the center of the hockey universe, just a Leaf town) and pumped.

The combine is perfect for what is happening in Western NY!

It will be awesome

If we add Frolik and Oduya, and use 21 and 31 to possibly move up for a nice winger available (Konecny) I will consider this an excellent offseason
- sbroads24

It still doesn't address the goalie situation. I would like to use 31 to get a goalie. I've seen some mocks that has Konecny at 15. I would be open to trading 21 and 51 to move up.

Frolik would be a good add, but Belsekey is the right age, 26 years old. Still could get a bit better, but at least if you do a 4 year deal with a guy like that, his play wont decline bc of age.

Justin Williams is 34? I think his best days are behind him.

Great point, I think he kind of like moulson..good player that plays great in the right situation. But falls into the crowd when asked to generate offense alone.

Better, but dont worry ROR isnt going anywhere. He belongs in Colorado long term. He has the ideal situation there. Rid shotgun on Dutchs Wing or Center an explosive talent in MacKinnon.

From what was said when the season ended by both parties, it seems pretty optimistic that he wants to resign there

- DDM-Coga

I wouldn't be to sure of that.

I think they can get a decent goalie in FA, or move a 3rd for Lehner. I don't expect them to land their future goalie this offseason.

Av fans are pretty optimistic about it right now. Sakic and Roy have been constantly bringing up 2 points in all their interviews lately. Is getting ROR under contract and finding EJ a long term partner.

Both of those guys should and probably will be extended this summer, then they will look at how to add and build around them. ROR still is a wild card, but I think he stays, he has a good thing going there.

My concern with Beleskey is whether or not he's really that good or if he was just riding on the coattails of the guys in Anaheim. He's probably going to get a sizable contract in both $$ and term. I'd rather not give something like that to a guy that is still sort of an unknown.

I share this concern.

After he was traded by the Ducks, Nick Bonino's production dropped by 20% with the Couver this year .

Not sure who moves down, Florida doesn't have second rounder but 10 spots is a steep drop.

Exactly. Now, I'm not saying that he would need to have the exact same production, but in general, if we're giving a guy a contract for big money and long term, I'd like him to have more than 1 productive season under his belt.

I agree, there are a handful right there early in the 2nd. Wish they wold have done this a few years back with Fucale but those are the breaks. I would mind seeing it dealt for an nhl ready guy and there are a few out there.

On the Nucks thread yesterday I offered 31 for Eddie Lack. Most of the posters there were in favor, some wanted 31 and 51 though. Some wanted our 1st for Lack. I even offered Foligno and 51. Benning wants additional picks to get back in the 2nd/3rd rounds.

Would you do 31 for Lack? Add to it?

GO!

I look at him as a future asset. He is 26 and has shown flashes of production. Teams would still bite on him in a trade based on what he has done in the past on "deeper teams"

Look at Chris Stewart, you still got a 2nd rounder out of him. If a guy like beleskey doesnt pan out in Buff after a season or 2, unless he Leino sucks, he will still have trade value

I think with the available picks we could find our future #1 via trade. I'm not crazy about the FA goalies aside from Dubnyk and Ramo and those two could easily re-sign with their respective clubs. Murray has a lot of options at the draft. Between picks and prospects we could get that guy.

The games I saw Lack play in I was really impressed. You probably have seen him much more out there then I have. He has #1 written all over him.

I wouldn't hate signing him. But depending on the contract structure I may not love it either. I'm sure they could do much worse though.

If I'm not mistaken, both Minny and Dubnyk have said he's not going anywhere.

if you can get him for 4years at 4m. You can move that contract all day long or at the very least have him playing on the third line without being too much of a waste of cap space. Anything more you shouldnt touch, it will just be a buyout nightmare if he doesnt pan out

Heard Eddie Lack is available, asking price is a 2nd. Anyone interested in that? I don't mind Lack, but best I would do is the Islanders 2nd and even that might be a stretch.

Check the last few pages. I brought up the idea of acquiring Lack for 31.

I think his last contract was about $1.25m/year so he would be pretty cheap too (can't image paying more than $2m/year).

27 years old, 6'-4", 194lbs. Fairly "big" goalie. Would take a chance on him, but just want to make sure that the 2nd rounder we would trade is not needed for a "larger" trade.

Sorry, did not get to read all the pages. I would not do 31, cause that may / will be needed for a larger trade. (I know Murray is cooking something up....)
