Retaining salary is an absolute non-starter...they're already paying 800 thousand dollars a year of Lu's salary, how many goaltenders are we going to be paying around the league. - LeftCoaster
I wouldn't be against retaining salary for 1 year, next year, while Lack's salary is just over 1mil.
It all depends on the deal. |

Pratt is such a joke. - hillbillydeluxe
So is Jake.
Lets Bring in two morons and give them their own show.
Jake on 101 was brilliant. I got tired of the champ after a while but the guy can talk music.
He sounds like me trying to solve math equation when he talks sports. |

Plus he's a Benning guy, Miller stays unless he has asked to be moved, which could be possible with his wife and new baby. Any California team would make sense then. Millers salary is a bit high, but not totally unreasonable. Salary out, salary in. |

Jake, kind of keeps Pratt in line, and vice versa.
Botch is on there this morning, disagreeing with Pratt, Pratt concedes but still feels the need to argue his point. You are right, you are right, yes I know, BUT... and it doesn't go anywhere.
These guys don't really know any more than us and I think that is the same for half the guys on tv. anyone believe that Ottawa rumour re. Lack? Sounds like speculation to me.
Same as some of the fmr hockey players, they have their perspective, which may be more informed, but they don't necessarily speak for all players. |

Yeah we don't want Miller not happening but Lack on the other hand we'd most definitely be interested in. - SJSharks39

Term on Millers deal > Term on Lou's ???
Pissing away your goaltenders because, you are stuck with a square peg in a round hole?
I'd rather eat salary. |

Plus it's not we'll be contending during these next 2 seasons so I'd happily retain some salary if they got a decent return. |

Just my opinion...Aquilini is not going to eat anyone's salary...period!! Nor should he, when you're eating salary it's a sign of managerial incompetence - Benning is not going to do it.
It's just not going to happen folks...Lack will be traded. |

maybe we should all pool our money and buy the canucks...lets see, we would need 750-800 million as the team is worth 750m. I have $5 towards it. The means we only need 749,999,995 more to buy the team. |

No kidding. Not sure if it is sincere or just playing the devil's advocate. Same as Pratt.
Just like the internet, you never know when someone is serious or not. Poker a sport? sort of stuff. Botch is not immune.
Have to remind myself, these guys are on the spot almost as much as the guys they interview. Maybe that is the difference between them and someone like Bob Mac. Mac seems to pause and think for a moment before speaking and is likely more prepared. |

I know...if you look at it realistically Benning is just not going to move Miller unless someone knocks his socks off. And that ain't happening. |

are you digging the hole deeper by not getting out of it. good money after bad?
After Torts' season, the exit interviews seemed top play a big part in Miller's signing.
I wonder what the exit interviews were like after this last season?
When you talk about eating salary, isn't it all cap related. Isn't that the budget JB has to deal with.
If it is all about FA's willingness, who is making the decisions?
It all depends on the deal. Don't think Miller being traded should be ruled out.
Vrbata being traded should be a crazier idea than moving Miller. It all depends on the deal. Especially when stuff gets leaked later, he was offered this and didn't do it. |

It's all we are left with-- Opinion. I get it.
Benning can claim ( and rightfully so ) that he was so unfamiliar with Lack and Markkstrom that he couldn't gamble.
I just don't like the idea of moving Eddie when he seems to have the personality this market needs.
Skillset is one thing; however, I think his MINDSET in this market is what can make him successful where others have failed ( and failed miserably ).

You know Miller doesn't like precipitation as it affects the ice and puck movement ...
Someone is being moved, I hope. |

I don't think it's being ruled out at all, nothing should be off table. That said. I don't see anyone trading for Miller, I just don't. I could absolutely be wrong, but I just don't see Benning moving him.
Professional sports is a very fluid business, nothing is written in stone; things change quickly!! I would be more than thrilled if Miller could be traded for a 3rd round pick, but again, I just don't see it happening. |

Nick Merkley performance last night probably put him in the top 10. - manvanfan
Kid looks great, but I think its fair to say he is of shink ilk. Which I have no problem with and am a huge fan. But I think he goes lower then he should.
I'll take him over LD any day of the week though. Kid brought it every game. LDwaited till the game was out of teach and tacked on some kessel goals |
