It's better for Markstrom for sure; I don't know if it's better for the Canucks or not.

Benning knows what he wants to do, I'm not sure what that is, but I'm sure he has a clear picture of what he wants. The mans been around hockey for a long long time. His ideas aren't clear to me, but he's said publicly we need to get younger and faster. So I'm hoping he sticks to that while adding some size that we lack as well.

I agree with you, other than the fact he knows what to do. He needs to have validation from the people he's surrounded with. Perhaps he's still trying to come to grips with being the man instead of Chiarellis (Chia Pet's) assistant. I don't think he's an independent thinker when it comes to trades.

I do...all indications (from his Boston days) point to him having a strong opinion on such matters. He's definitely not a dollars and cents guy though, from what I've seen.

The old group did as well up until the SCF. They played the same way Chicago/Detroit play. Puck possession and skill.

We'll see what he next core does. I suspect Benning ideal team will likely be more based on speed/physicality and we won't see as much skill and hockey sense as the peak years of the current core but more of he raw physical ability they lacked.
