In a case that began with a curious mother checking her child's cellphone, a Lehigh County jury on Wednesday found a 40-year-old Allentown woman guilty of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy.

Rachel Warris was convicted of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person under 16 years old, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and indecent assault. She will be sentenced next month and could face more than 10 years in a state prison.

During a two-day trial in Lehigh County Court this week, jurors heard from the boy, now 14, who took the witness stand and awkwardly described Warris performing oral sex on him in the living room of her Dixon Street home.

Warris denied the charges. On the witness stand Tuesday she admitted flashing her breasts at the boy and her own son, but said she did it as a joke. She also admitted sending sexually explicit messages to the boy.

Warris told the jury that the boy was the aggressor and that she put her mouth on his genitals in attempt to stop his attack.

David Ritter, Warris' attorney, argued that police took advantage of Warris' lack of intelligence to trick her into confessing.
