How bad is his contract??? - Sabresfan88
7.25MM for 2022.
Realllllyyyy bad.
So unless they are taking back bad contracts, and giving Buffalo that third round pick pack, no deal. |

If I remember right he is making like 8M for the next 6 years.
Didn't he just have a heart problem too or something life threatening? - JVince11
If that is the case, I would pass.
He also gets hurt a lot.
No thanks. |

Agreed. And it's not even normal injuries. The guy has probably the worst luck ever. I honestly feel like he should retire before something really bad happens. - HonkFortheGoose
the more i think about it, the more I dont want to do it unless Pittsburgh pays Buffalo.
Letang and Buffalos 3rd rd pick back for Hodgson, Mike Weber. |

Best to stay away from that. It will kill the cap down the road. |

I read somewhere that Darcy was interested in bringing Hodgson out to the desert in a "rumor round-up". Love to get like Boedkker's rights or just another young winger.
I don't want Letang.
Bogo - Gorges/Pysyk
Zads - Risto
Weber - Pysyk/Gorges
Ruhwedel
With McCabe in AHL.
We are more than set at D-men for right now that we don't need to bring in that huge contract. Thats why we traded Myers I feel like was that we wanted flexibility in the back end. |

They can keep him. I don't need to be paying over $7 million a season for the next 7 years for a guy that has the concussion history he does and has had a stroke before. I'll pass. |

Am I the only one that would really NOT want to overpay for the high price of Eddie Lack and rather get Markstrom???
I still think Markstrom has a high upside and would love to see a 50/50 almost split between him and a vet like Lindback or Neuvirth back here... poop.. maybe even Enroth on a short term deal (no pun intended).
It is clear that Couver has ZERO trust in Miller after the shelling he took this season and in the playoffs. They know they can't move him or his contract. |

I'd rather get Lack. He's more NHL tested than Markstrom. Markstrom has been a work in progress for quite some time and hasn't done anything to show me he's ready. |

By all accounts Markstrom is having a fantastic playoffs in Utica but Lack is ready to be a #1 so I'd rather have him.

I would have to say a 2nd isn't that bad for Lack. I heard it was only a 2nd, but I could be wrong. |

I don't see why this would be. He started very well for them, and put up decent numbers until he got hurt. Only reason Lack started in the playoffs was because of Miller not being 100% |

Correct. The talk is a 2nd. Benning wants to acquire picks to get back in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. That's what I understand. |

To me it seems that Vancouver is more believing that Miller is their guy and Markstrom can start learning under him. Why not try to flip a valuable guy that you aren't going to use? |

If I'm not mistaken, Benning was instrumental in us drafting Miller in 1999 and since he was Benning's first big signing out there, it would certainly make sense that he wants to stick with his main guy. It makes Markstrom the back up and Lack available in trade. |

It's not like Florida didn't give him time to develop either. I get that he's only 25 right now, but if he was going to be able to be an NHLer, he should have shown some flash of it at the NHL level. Instead, in the 2 years he's been with Vancouver, he has over a 3.00 GAA and a sub .900 sv%.
I'll pass. |
