Absolutely. This team needs it. Erhoff ain't no slouch though.

Personally, he'd be a slight upgrade on Weber, so there is that, if he'd agree to 2 year 4 mil contract and we could trade Bieksa for a late 2nd, early 3rd rounder, I'd take him and dump Weber.

With the Rangers cap crunch, could an RFA be available?

Burrows (reunited with AV/replace MSL) - 1.5 million retained
Nick Bonino(1.9 cap hit/replace Stepan)
Jensen/Gaunce(for a team low on futures)

For

RFA Stepan

I'm sure they would want a grade A prospect, but it wouldn't be worth it from our perspective.

Yeah, why is everyone trying to make this team better next year?

Out with the old & in with the young.

I thought kings prospect Mathew Mistele had a great run for the generals as well... would be really cool to see manchester and Utica in the Calder Cup Final.I think it would add to the existing rivalry down the road. Especially with both teams moving out west next year. Very well written, good read.

I cannot see JB wasting money on Erhoff.
Poor defense n injuries.
Can see Clendening n Weber both playing.
If Bieksa traded it opens door for Corrado.

Perry has his cup. Probable that Perry doesn't give a $hit whether Kesler gets one or not.

Neither do I. Guess that means I have something in common with Perry.

I think we have enough bottom 6 forwards. Unless we traded a lot of them i doubt we would need him. We need future top 3 forwards.

If the Canucks had to shed salary, cap going down, bunch of teams feeling the pinch, who is the first guy you consider buying out?

I'm thinking Bieksa or Burrows with their high cap hit but reduced salary.

Bieksa has to be appealing to a cash strapped organization. if he would waive.

Wouldn't we retain salary if we bought Bieksa out?

Doubt he's happy with just one. Plus he was on the 2nd line during that cup run, I bet both he and Getzlaf want to prove they can lead a team to a cup since they haven't yet.

Plus these guys get some nice bonus $$$ for winning a cup.

I think if you buy anyone out, you retain salary- maybe I am screwing it up and it is cap hit and salary plays no part. But you spread it out over a longer time, so if one year is remaining you spread it out for 2 years or something and it is a reduced portion anyway.

First post of the day for me and I am already talking out of me butt.
