So does this mean we draft better than Detroit now?
- CubanBuffet

No it means that Travis Green is a better coach than Babcock.

Most of their top players are still considered prospects, Utica relied way more on career AHL'ers

Too many numbers and graphs. What was that a formula for the winning lottery numbers?

Conacher, Saguinetti, O'Rielly were huge parts of the team. Detroit had Miele and I guess Peatsch mostly as their vets who were their core players.

I guess, but on special teams, and mainly for Offense it seemed like Utica relied on their vets much more. Utica plays a strong team game, but outside of Baerstchi, none of the young players really look like they can take over a game in the AHL. Gaince will never be that type of player, and obviously Shinkaruk/Virtanen are really young but I get jealous watching a guy like Larkin.

What the heck happened to Virtanen's accuracy??

Watching some of his games his accuracy has gone to sh!t since his shoulder surgery.

Benning did say Virtanen has A LOT to work to do this off-season because he didn't have one last year.

Utica wasn't exactly good at defense in this series, plus Larkin is fresh compared to the rest, it's not surprising that he was able to look so good in comparison.

So this means the Canucks have the best prospect pool in the NHL now ?

Grenier looks to be a great find.
Friesen could make the jump next year if the Canucks don't resign Richardson and trade Higgins and Kassian.

Travis Green's name is going to start popping up in NHL head coaching rumours starting next season.

Just in time since Canucks fans will have run WD out of town.

That is why you move him , he is getting older. Let him go play with Burns , send Miller there too

Exactly.

We have Bieksa at 4.6...Hammer at 4.5 and Tanev at 4.4mil.

7 goals between them.

Yes, let's give Hamhuis more money for 1 goal per season while we have Utica Dmen at the ready.

Or find a way to ship Bieksa AND Hammer out and get Burns here.

Please no. I see alot of him in SJ. He's a weird dude. People will be calling in to the radio stations questioning his commitment and drive him out of town in no time.

So we now want to run Hamhuis out of town?

We have some downright horrible D-Men for sure. I would put a more adventurous offensive minded player guy like Clendening with Hammer and call it love. All day long.

I don't want to run Hamhuis out I like some of his intangibles.

But if he wants a raise then we need to let him walk.

Lots of Dmen out there that get a hell of alot more than 8pts/year for ALOT less than 4.5 mil/per. Younger, tougher and better skaters as well.

He had 23 points in 59 games this year. He's a great value at 4.5M

Who are these younger, better defensemen that are available?
