No surprise, Auld trains Lack... - hillbillydeluxe
Good point, but it doesn't mean he is wrong. |

Ya he was sent home awhile ago...more about McCann than Hutton. I guess as I was thinking he could possibly get into a game. |

That is new info re: McCann, but I thought Hutton has been training in Vancouver for a week or more already. (heard JB say that in an interview last week anyway)
Not meaning to split hairs.
Damn. late to the party again. |

Yeah, what happens if a center or two gets injured in the Calder Cup? |

I am happy with Benning and his ability to see where the team is headed if changes are not made.
As for people shouting "Lou, Cory and Eddie!" --- you make it sound like there is some sort of plan... 1. Defiantly there was no plan under Gillis but its hard to connect the reasons Lou and Cory were traded with a possibility of Eddie being traded.
By the way.... I still miss Lou.......... |

I got awesome tickets to game 1 of the Calder cup finals. I was going even if it wasn't Utica... but 1000x more excited to go now that I know it is. Going to be great to see the future in person. I get jealous of all of you that live close enough to see Vancouver live. - djlarose
Practice and remember the chant: "play with more speed and skill you feckers!"
have a good time, sounds like fun. |

Benning is gonna fool us all and trade both Miller and Markstrom somewhere then sign Neuvirth to back up Lack - LeftCoaster
Benning's latest interview sounded like he is trying to pump Markstrom's tires. I also doubt that he is waiting a couple of weeks before he makes his decision on what they are going to do.
He is waiting until the draft to see what the market will give him, until then he will pump up Markstrom's value and Miller's agent has already made statement about his health recently to do the same.
I have faith that Benning won't be so foolish as move his best goalie who happens to be relatively young, when the market won't give much for any of his assets. |

For sure but he'd be more prepared if he's practicing and sitting in on all of the meetings. Seems a bit weird but it's unlikely that they'd need him anyway since they have LaBate and Blomstrand as spare forwards and Gaunce/Labate can play center if needed.
Just found the timing curious. |

yeah, im guessing they feel he may need to add some weight so a prolonged weight routine for him to bulk up a little might be better than just practicing with the team?
Would have loved to see him get some game time but I guess, "it is what it is" |

They already have been injured and McCann didn't make it in, with Acton healthy again I think it was obvious he had no chance. |

I think Benning's decision to sign Miller was one from 1) his meetings with the core players 2) his past history with Miller 3) him coming in cold to a new franchise
In hindsight he probably wishes he hadn't signed him to a three year deal, but whaddo I know. |

Blomstrand was sent back to sweden I believe as well.... although I can't recall where I saw that.
I wonder if he can crack the Utica roster next year, he had a pretty strong season in the ECHL, maybe he will be next year's Grenier. |

If we are trading Lack which we are not then I want a D prospect back then or a young Dman like Dillon - VANTEL

Playing a game or two in the pros could help him identify areas of weakness that he needs to work on. From what I've seen of him, he mainly needs to get stronger but playing a pro game could help him identify the little things in his game that need work.
It's no biggie, but I'm guessing Green doesn't think he's strong enough yet so the move is understandable. |
