Not that I don't like him, but every time he plays in the NHL he gets shelled. He has played 50 games and has been terrible
- VANTEL

You have to put that in context like Benning said today, those 50 games are pretty much meaningless. He's gotten proper coaching this year which has completely turned his game around....and it's showing.

Still needs to keep improving though!!

I would too after that Depres trade and Letang's health woes.

I remember reading that he didn't even have a proper goalie coach in Florida either.

I see Miller Lack back next year

You don't think Lack gets moved?

Seeing is believing. I seen him play less that 20 games ago for the Canucks 1 game was ok and the other was

Not any different than Lu, Schneider, Lack, Miller etc - they've all had terrible games. As a young guy Bo struggled at times this year too. Confidence is everything, something Markstrom needs and he'll only get it with experience.

Those goalies would have 10 to 12 good games one bad one . Markstrom would have 1 good one ,10-12 bad ones. Fla wrote him off. Torts wrote him off. WD was very very skeptical about playing him.

None of them started off as stars, I don't think you've seen enough of him to pass judgment to be honest.

He's started two games with the Canucks...that's it.

At some point he will shake off the NHL nerves. His elite playoffs so far will go a long ways to help in the NHL.

You're right , I have not seen enough of him to pass judgement, same as you have not seen enough of him to hand him the keys to the new car

Yes of course, I'm not proposing he be our starter next year. I'm saying he has tremendous raw talent that should not be discarded without careful consideration.

I'd like to see the Canucks develop him properly like they did with Lack and Schneider.

Markstrom's not going to be traded, they'd be lucky to get a 4th-7th round pick for him based on his lack of NHL success/experience. Lack will be traded because he's not going to resign here for less than Miller money or accept being the backup now that he's entering his prime and since Miller's going nowhere with his contract, you move Lack and get something for him instead of losing him for nothing.

Not far from the truth other than him signing for Miller money. He isn't worth Miller money.

If you had Tuka Rask or J Quick to teach Markstrom the ropes or shelter him then that would be ok. You have an old Goalie who just came off a huge injury.

With Lack you know what you have Markstom is a huge questionmark, and for an ownership that is hell bent on making the plyoffs and worried about putting butts in the seats, you don't move your best goalie and fan favourite

Seeing we played Oklahoma city I am sure they had scouts there observing Makstrom. Buffalo is a hop skip and jump away from Utica too. I am sure they were looking too
