Yes but HE'S BIG...
I'd take him if the price is "cheap" - WaterBoy
he would be a serious overall upgrade to DD. |

Yeah but the season before he had 54 points in 65 games. Now I have not seen the wild play all year so I don't know if he's declining fast or just a bad season. |

Defensively maybe.
But from a scoring perspective? It's just more of the same. |

I think it would be awesome so just we can have a guy named koivu who is miscast as a top line offensive center.
if he takes a hooking penalty in the last 5 minutes of a game I fully expect _nay_ to blow this site up. |

I made fresh bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers yesterday. On the BBQ.

yes but we know it doesn't work with DD in the playoffs. maybe it would be better with Koivu. just checked his stats and he's played surprisingly few PO games and hasn't been very productive. but i'd like to see that swap as opposed to just continuing with the status quo. |

Problem is, it wouldn't generate much better results imho. |

Over his career, Koivu's at clos to 0.73 pts/gm...
Desharnais is at 0.62 pts/gm
that's about 9 pts per season difference... |

on its own? maybe not. but it's unlikely that there's one move out there that will make the difference on its own. it's got to be a series of moves. |
