Chiarelli will whip that team into shape. - LordHumungous
If was an Edmonton fan I wouldn't be to quick to jump on the Chirelli wagon yet. Lowe is still in the picture. |

Lowe isn't in the picture though, he's been shifted to non-hockey operations because of his relationship with the owner.
Chiarelli wouldn't have taken the job unless he was fully in charge under Bob Nicholson. My opinion. |

I agree but I still wouldn't jump on the Chirelli wagon so quick. He was gifted a young team with lots of promise. We shall see what happens. D and goalies are a must. Scrivens is not a #1 nor do they have even one shut down defenceman. |

If @CliffRonning7 says the Canucks need Barzal *thumbs up emoji* then that's good enough for us.

Definitely fell into a favorable situation but he did take a poop Boston team to the Cup in a five year span. |

He was surround by good counsel. Even he would admit that. One can take a lot of credit because they make the final decision but it takes a team of quality hockey minds to steer those choices in the right direction. |

I just really like Barzal's skill-set. Great wheels and a great playmaking center to take over for Hank. |

For sure, that works for any organization and for good decisions as well as bad. You (not you personally) can't say Chiarelli was surrounded by great counsel to put the Bruins together on one hand and then solely blame him for trading Seguin on the other. |

another one - LeftCoaster
So many good players are going to be taken in the 2nd, I think I would rather have 2 2nds than an additional 1st this year as the drop off from 20 to 50 isn't going to be significant IMO.
Bieksa for CLB 2nd (34, 38 or 58) or Ott 2nd (42 or 48)
Lack for 31 overall from Buf
Higgins for NJ 2nd (36 or 41)

I can see those Bieksa and Lack deals being pretty realistic and reasonable. I'd rather not trade down though, historically the team who trade sup usually has the chance to draft better talent.
If Benning could get both of those done, I'd be a little less pissed about Sbisa/Miller. |

It really baffles my (frank)in mind (pardon my potty mouth) that this guy is still employed by the organization.
On that note, WTF has Gradin uncovered over the past 10 years in Europe? |

The only decent scouts we have are the OHL guys. Gillis was starting to let them run the entire draft before he got canned but I'm guessing their role isn't as big now.
If our OHL guys and Benning all like the same prospect, I'd feel pretty good about picking that prospect.
I'd feel amazing about it if Delorme hated that same prospect. |

I just doubt Juice will waive, I wasn't suggesting trading down, just acquiring more than one 2nd rounder. |

Lack and Forsling. Neither of who will be on the Canucks next year most likely. |
