wish i knew why JB signed sbisa to 3.5M contract. perhaps he knows something we dont. MIND YOU, he was paired w bieksa.....kinda unreasonable to judge on that pairing. what was Lidster thinking keeping that train wreck together?
whats cool is franson wants to play here and erhoff has expressed interest in coming back as well. so if you get discounts on these guys say 3.5 for franson (hometown) and say 2.5 for erhoff (due to risk after serious concussion) thats 6M. Millers contract.
I think send miller to buffalo for a pick of some sort or prospect.....bag of pucks. He's a legend out there, they'd want him. Keep lack and markstrom, these guys are clearly the future. |

I still wonder about the "learn how to win in the minors" idea. Sure, it has mainly worked out for the Lightning with the likes of Johnson, Palat, Kucherov etc. And it certainly doesn't hurt to watch the young guys have success. But it doesn't always produce results at the NHL level...
From 2005-2010, the Hershey Bears won 3 out of 5 Calder Cups and lost in the finals in another season. Their NHL parent club is the Washington Capitals, who certainly haven't learned how to win in the playoffs. - nucks_94
You still have to have your leaders with the same mentality.
Green, Backstrom and co are hardly all in.
Holtby is a keeper though |

Miller will never go back to Buffalo. His wife is a west coaster. Both of their careers are in the west. She won't leave hers and he won't her. No chance he goes east. Cali is the only option for him. |

I don't think you learn how to win in the minors, I think it is more about learning how to be a professional. The winning doesn't necessarily translate, but I think if you learn to prepare like a professional, and commit to the routine and grind of games, travel, workouts, diet, and some of the notoriety and interaction with the fans... it helps you later.
Hopefully, they don't learn to party to excess but commit to trying to win and be ready to play. |

Our daughter Reese was 9lbs 4 oz. Both of us are on the small side. And no huge family members. So we were wondering where the size came from. At2 she still hasn't doubled her weight. She's 3 now and 27 lbs. Eats like a horse bit doesn't grow, lol |

Yeah, I could see that being part of it. I think the most important thing about the AHL affiliate is that they play the same system as the parent club. Whether they are winning or not, they have to learn the same system in order to efficiently translate their games to the NHL. |

My first inatnct was that. But Edler and Hoff were very good together. Clendwning moves the puck and is decent without it. Need him to play somewhere in our top 4 and develop |

I didn't want to separate Tanev and Edler as they are a shut down pair that have a great first pass leaving the zone. |

I thought it was great when he went in to take the face off for Lain in that silly line brawl with the Flames, causing Torts' melt down.
But I think the team is in serious need of a heart transplant.
I am not sure if it is a fair comparison to look at Toews as the heart or identity of the Hawks and compare him to Bieksa, who many think is the heart of the Canucks. One is serious, the other is aloof and often acts nonchalant.
Really though, this team needs more change beyond Bieksa too. - hillbillydeluxe
Ya it does. really the D is the main issue. A puck moving D will be a major help.
But if you recall from my previous posts I believe Lidster needs to go. How he has a job after keeping bieksa sbisa together most of the season is beyond me.....and how defensive lapses werent corrected all season and went unaddresed till down 3-1 in the playoffs. Makes you wonder if he is watching any of these games or day dreaming / playing pacman on the bench. If I were at the helm he wouldnt have made it through the season.
but speaking of coaches, Id like to see some superstar coaches grouped together. Take some head coaches that are out of work and make them assistants....running the area of their strength. For ex carlyle running the D. boucher running PP etc. Look at team canada at olympics, babcock, hitchcock, julien. what a line up. defense was legendary.
the bonus is if a coach gets canned you already have superstar guys in place that know the team |

Ideally you keep them as a shutdown pair and the 2nd top 4 pairing is an offensive pairing. |
