I think it's hilarious that the Leafs are just basically buying up all the best guys and doing things other teams can't financially do to get some kind of edge.

Marner has got the most skill. This is a new NHL - we can't just draft bricks and tanks. Like I get Strome has tons of points but is bigger than Marner but Marner did it all on his own. It just seems like a way safer pick & one with WAY more payoff / reward.

Like I said yesterday, my true hope is that the Leafs pry 3rd overall from Arizona and draft both Marner & Strome. All the great teams in the league have a sweet 1-2 duo. And while there's no guarantees either Marner & Strome will ever be that good, its the philosophy and the chance that the Leafs must take.

I get what you're saying, but I believe Nylander can be the other half of the duo.

If they want 4 and 5, then get a Dman to pair with Rielly so we have a dynamic duo on the back end as well
