Columbus has 3, Arizona has 2, Buffalo has 2, New Jersey also has 2 and Edmonton.

I really hope the leafs don't trade down. who was our last 2nd rder to make an impact?
Kulemin??

Unless someone offers a haul, they should stay at 4.

i wont lie.. i put hanifin slightly ahead.. closest to NHL ready (size and skill wise - as per most scouting reports) and the idea of a hanifin / rielly top pairing moving forward REALLY intrigues me.

that being said.. if there is any truth to the leafs targeting Reilly then thats a bit of a game changer as well

- Dozzer

Don't disagree with this statement Bruce, but being the most NHL ready player does not mean he has the higher ceiling, which is what the Leafs should really be focusing on. If they think Marner or another player projects to be a higher impact player down the road, that is who they need to grab imo.

Might entice someone. Not sure if moving down 9 spots is worth MTL's 2nd unless there's something we really like there.
- Jeropotato

Yeah maybe...Maybe 2nd round this year and 2 round next year would be fair i guess

If the Leafs want Futa and he wants to go to Toronto which would be a promotion and more money for him then he will be allowed to go....

If the leafs really do covet a big center, and strome is gone at 3, Edmonton could be a pretty decent trading partner (Draisaitl). I'd be shocked if they would pass at the chance to throw Hanifin into their lineup next year.

4th overall, 24th overall, Bernier/Reimer for Draisaitl, 16th Overall.

I'd give him an edge based on the fact that Hanifin is probably the consensus pick after the uber talents and last years draft was kinda poopty. also Leon didn't really do much at the NHL level
- GardinerExpress

What was Leon supposed to do? Be a ppg player? Do you actually think his 30 odd games are indicative of anything he will do in the NHl?
I'll pay the premium for Hanifin because he's a defender and were in good shape down the middle. Not because I have some silly expectation that he will be a Calder candidate or immediate top 4 D next year. That's just dumb.

Also, your perception of a deep draft is kinda screwy. It doesn't mean the consensus 3rd and 4th overalls will be better than the previous years 3rd and 4th overalls. It means the later picks, like 10-50, will have more high end talent than previous years.

No, my wife's gym, we opened 6 years ago. Started small, and now have a 33k sq foot building, with 23 coaches working for us. And more to come. Dance studio, Rock climbing are next to be added.

but it's the 24th pick that was being shopped for a couple of 2nd round picks by the members of this board.

If Leon was in this draft year, he may not go till 6th or 7th overall.
That 4th/24th/Bernier for LD and 16th is just silly.
