I blame whoever's in charge of PR. A 6th grader could have told him to keep that quote to himself. - Sabresfan-365
He's been pretty honest about being way too open about his candor. I remember cringing when he said in an interview that nobody was calling about his goalies that he wanted to trade. I know someone that was at his radio interview yesterday. Apparently when the interview ended he expressed that he wished he hadn't talked about Halo because people might think he does that all day long.

This world has become way to politically correct. He thinks he's the best player in the draft, why does that even surprise anyone. Not really sure why this is even news to be honest. |

For the same reason that the publicity whore family has once again gained the top story of the media. Because people talk about controversy. |

I especially like the fact that Murray backed him up on it....saying he SHOULD believe he's the best player in the draft. There's really nothing to get upset over.

I know why they do it, it just annoys me. Its like when the media make it a huge deal when a player says they are going to win a game 7, OMG how could he say that. Well, what is he supposed to say? "Um, I think they are better than us and I have a tee time booked for Monday".

It wouldn't surprise me if the Oilers re-sign him on a 1 year deal. |

I agree. The media/mostly everyone is all about greed. You do what makes money and apparently controversy makes money |

He should be cheap. And probably not a terrible option for the bottom of the roster. |

Right, and he wasn't bad for them last year. I sold my bar years ago so I have no reason to want him within 100 miles of this team ever again.

Hey friends, check out Bobby M's pre draft rankings.
http://www.tsn.ca/mcdavid...al-draft-ranking-1.296839
Of Note:
Kylington still slipping a bit, Samsanov rising quite a bit, Jeremy Roy falling, Jordan Greenway falling far, Colin White slipping a bit, Marner swaps with Strome (interchangable IMO), Provorov rising.. - TheSabresTaco
I'm kind of surprised he has Zacha at 6 considering he missed most of the year with injuries, but he has great upside. The rest of the top 10 wasn't a big surprise. He has Zboril a little higher than I thought and not sure why Roy has dropped.
My top 10
1. MacDavid
2. Eichel
3. Strome
4. Hanifin
5. Marner
6. Barzal
7. Crouse
8. Provorov
9. Zacha
10. Werenski

Sounds to me like he's said it to more than one. - grand-magus
I heard it in his own voice on the news. He only said that to one team and was surprised his interview wasn't confidential. Shows you how inaccurate news stories can be.

Is Roy a "3rd line" center though?
He failed horribly in that role before he went to the Oilers. They put him in a scoring role in the top6 & he did well.
Can't see him higher on the depth chart than McDavid or RNH
It'll be interesting to see how the Oilers do their lines |

Before he went to the oilers he was on the 4th line in Dallas, where he didn't belong.

No. He isn't. It's not likely Roy resigns with Edmonton. He's not a useful utility player, he's good in a soft zone starts , easy competition type scenario. And that will be McDavids spot this year most likely. He might find NHL work, but not with the Oilers. |
