However, I believe NHL would have been much happier to see McDavid go to a Eastern team, just to showcase him, not to bury him somewhere in nowhere land, and with a huge time zone difference!
So, I am looking at all different logistics of it!

Oh I completly agree about the NHL not liking it. I live in Edmonton and the majority of the home games started at 7:30 local time which is 9:30 EST. I'm going to assume that the oilers will be on a lot of national broadcasts of the second game Ina double header. (In Canada anyways)

Second of all, he will be no good when we are ready to win.
Third of all, he is a playoffs bust.

Toews is not the better overall player, or leader, or even defensive forward. He is on a much superior team than Crosby, period.

No, I think it's Jack 24/7 here in Buffalo but they are probably just as excited for McDavid. He is their guy and unless McDavid comes up with a chronic health problem or blows out a knee or something he's an Oiler.

have to disagree there bud. Toews can seem to score at will when it gets down to the wire. He's certainly more trustworthy defensively, I would wager physically tougher than Crosby, and he is by far a better team leader than Crosby, regardless of the quality of the team being led. Not saying that Crosby doesn't possess these attributes cuz he does, just not as well as the Toewster. just my opinion

My advice.mdont let the comparisons haunt you. Oilers fans aren't thinking about McDavid vs Eichel at all, and I have a feeling you guys will obsess over it before long.

Well, good for Buffalo that Eichel said that. He surely couldn't have been impressed with the GM's comments when the lottery results came in.
We Oiler Fans are pretty stoked to be getting McDavid. These guys won't be seeing much of each other being in different conferences but it will be very interesting whenever they do meet.
