.....zero chance....and you are only lying to yourself if you think Eichel is the better prospect. - Jeropotato
never know, only time will tell my friend. they are both going to be great but who has the better overall package remains to be seen. |

There's a chance , for sure.....but some of you guys have gone from hoping that's the case to being convinced that Eichel> McDavid.
My advice.mdont let the comparisons haunt you. Oilers fans aren't thinking about McDavid vs Eichel at all, and I have a feeling you guys will obsess over it before long. - Jeropotato
That is what you want to believe!!!
Trust me, we are very happy for getting Eichel!
So happy, that I really do not care what McDavid does or does not do in Western Canada!!! |

What comments? - druryisclutch
He was interviewed on CBC right after the lottery results and said something along the lines of: he and all the Sabres fans should be dissapointed. The last place team should the the first pick and other things I can't quite remember. |

He probably will be better. McDavid is going to Edmonton. We know what happens to those guys. |

Man so many people love horrible players. We need another top winger, I hope they are all over this if the Rangers try to pull the trigger. we have the pieces. - ImNoTroll
Not if Ennis goes the other way. I know I'll be made fun of but I prefer Ennis all day long!

Dreger: “They will have to start negotiating rather quickly I would say on pending restricted free agent Dougie Hamilton.”
“There are some who believe that he could be the poster child for the offer sheet,” added Dreger."
According to Dreger Hamilton could be looking at “Doughty and Pietrangelo” money, that means a $6, 500, 000 to $7 , 000, 000 dollar cap hit. Any team with the necessary draft picks required to match the RFA compensation and cap space could sign Hamilton to an offer sheet.

Is Dougie Hamilton worth an offer sheet? He's not worth 4 1st round picks to me. |

I'm sure someone is willing to give up 4 first rounders for him. The flames signed oreilly to a offer sheet that would've gave up 4 first rounders. And I'd take Hamilton of oreilly. Oilers did the same thing with vanek. I'd think both the oilers and flames are glad the Sabres and avs matched the offer

Tough pill to swallow.....Oilers could afford the picks, but they will be shedding salary pretty quick and will miss those sweet ELC's in a few years.

Is he worth a first, 2nd and 3rd? To team planning on picking in the mid or late range, hell yeah he is. |

The new RFA compensation makes it much easier to consider offering them. See my post above. This is the off-season to do it. |

Again, unless you're offering him 9.1M+, you're not giving up four 1st rounders. |

I didn't realize they changed it. He is absolutely worth a 1st 2nd 3rd. I think the Bruins would match a 7X7 deal |

I think the comparison would be Toews and Crosby.
Toew (Eichel) is a better overall player, leader, and on the verge of winning his 3rd Cup, and Crosby (McDavid) is a great individual player, but............ - Sabresfan88
This exact thought has bounced around my skull about, oh, a gazillion times. |

Thanks for correcting, I thought if you got into 7 million that was where the 4 firsts were. 9.1? It has gone up over the years.
He is worth a 1, 2,, and 3 BUT I hate giving up next years pick not knowing where the Sabres are going to finish, most likely bottom 5-7. |
