So to validate your argument, you put Kesler in a situation where he is up, with only a minute on the clock, and Tavares needs to score, seems fair.
Im pretty sure its easy to say every coach would want that, because its not easy to score with a minute left. But if you ask any coach who would you prefer on their team, Kesler or Tavares, everyone would be taking Tavares over Kesler. - ImNoTroll
we're talking about killing a pp or a open net at the end of the game ..
i'm not talking about scoring this whole damn 4 pages has been about Defense

If theRe is 1 minute left, and I can have a team up by a goal, I'd take Cody Mccormick over Tavares. Its a dumb example. The team up with only a minute left is going to win more 99% of the time.

I stopped reading the 1st page when someone said to trade for Rick Vanish. - SABRES 89
Hilarious, you wanted Jumbo Joe or Marleau, over Nash. Both players are older, make nearly as much, and have donenothing over the last decade in the playoffs. The irony of this board is surreal sometimes.
edit: Evander Kane. WTF? Sabres hockey won't be boring.
edit: edit: Bogo - Buffalo--Sabres
Big fan of Jack coming on board and all of the excitement around Kane et al. However, being a B.C. guy, I am totally pumped about Sam Reinhart. I have a generic Sabres jersey and I am waiting to put his name and number on it. Can't wait to wear it at Canuck and Flames games. Seems like there is lots of people on this blog who aren't expecting much of Sam - just because he doesn't have the hype of McDavid or Eichel. Mistake. Samson R will be a special player.
I think it is laughable that anyone, even good naturedly, offers up the idea that Eichel is a better choice than McDavid. Belly laughable.
If McDavid were not in the draft, we would be speculating about a true comparison that has some real meaning. Do you take Eichel ahead of Strome or Marner? McDavid has pushed down the buzz on team mate Strome (#1 in OHL scorning) and Marner (#2).
I think Marner is going to win an NHL scoring title. He has a magic stick and incredible hockey IQ. This is the guy Buffalo needs to consider with the #2 pick.
Eichel is the old man of this draft. Happens every year. Guys get great reviews early on, but scouts know he is an early birthday and was only a couple of weeks out in qualifying for last year's draft. Eichel is this year's Sean Couturier. A good player that has an age and size advantage coming through the ranks. Being a 1/2 year older than the other guy is huge when your 16.

You might have a point if he was dominating 17 year olds. He dominated college (where he was the youngest player) and then looked great at the worlds (where he was younger than just about everyone else.

Not saying Eichel is not a very good player. Saying, because we have a truly generational player in McDavid, Eichel has been able to avoid the more realistic comparisons with Strome and Marner.

The guy just had a historic NCAA season. What more could he have done? Do you really think that guys like Strome and Marner (who I like) would have put up anywhere near the numbers that Eichel put up?
At the end of the day we don't know how good these guys will be. What we do know is that comparing Eichel to Strome and Marner is absurd.

The comparisons between Eichel and Mcdavid have been non existent considering we are this close to the draft.

This post was laughable. Look at his points as a freshman compared to Toews and Kessel. Or listen to Button's interview on wgr yesterday. Sounding like someone is a bit envious, eh?
