Based on the past six months I honestly can't even imagine what is a reasonable return for a player like Phaneuf (for instance). I think it's absolutely possible that they make minor moves over the summer and wait until the second month of the season to reassess the players that have carried the most flack (i.e. Kessel et al.).
It wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea either, if anything it may help our case if these guys can reinvigorate themselves with Babs behind the bench.
Just a thought.

Pretty hard for teams to trade for that kind of salary and remain under the cap though. Summer is when teams make a big trade like that.

leafs should trade JVR to Arizona for 3rd pick. Kessel, Kadri, Gardiner, Phanuef to CAR for 5th, Fluery, Semin.

Fluery, Strome, Marner, Nylander, Reilly, Hannafin, and then throw the offer sheets at Tarasenko, Hamilton, Saad, Galchenyuk, Zibaneajad!

Shouldn't they say, they stole the Belleville Bulls, not moved them? Local interests weren't even allowed to bid on the team. Hamilton used the deep pockets of a minority owner of the Montreal Canadiens to take a viable OHL franchise from a smaller market and stick them in a market that has failed in the OHL, a number of times. It will again.
